What setup would be the most cost effective and still sound good.

Those are all pretty sweet. That last setup sounds like the best deal, but I already have lights up there. I wonder what speakers they put in those. Have you heard them?

Hey Millertyme, let me know how those speakers turn out. $20 for four speakers is right up my alley. Are they in enclosures already?

| I have an 01 Wakesetter with Kicker tower speakers built by titan with there own amp and so forth. The problem is you still can't here the radio when youre boarding. to here it when your riding you need about six speakers on your tower, so my suggestion is spend your oney on something else. Its not worth it.

I have a set of the liquid audio speakers with the Kicker k60's from ebay. They're pretty decent speakers. I can hear them pretty good but not great from my boat when boarding. I only have a cheap amp on them though (mtx thunder 275). Last year they were selling them for $190 with the crappy mounts. I dont think that the newer mounts are worth another $100 though. I would rather get the mounts from chassis shop for $50. Plus they look better.
The gethighsports set up looks sweet! I'd probably go that rout next time.

Thanks Dragon, I am very happy with my Nautique.
I love music too much to go without so I need to come up with something. My buddy has a set of I think Liquid Audio speakers and they sound really good.
Hey with those speakers from the marine place, how did you wire them since they are 8 ohm? Did you use a 2 channel amp?

| i dont know about the westmarine speakers but if you have the extra cash, look for some Boss B530s or the new 653s on ebay. They come around every once and a while and usually go for 700. which is way better than the 999 i got quoted last year. Be sure to have people test them behind the boat @ 75' while boarding. Some people say they can hear them at 75' with the engine idling, that wont help while boarding! I have the B530s and can hear them crystal clear with 200 watts to each. Worth the extra dough IMO

I just left the speakers at 8ohms. Most all amps and even decks are fine at 8ohms. It is supposed to cut power output by half, but they are rockin off a 200watt amp from wal-mart.

K2,
have you tried them behind the boat boarding??? Our lake just thawed this weekend??? Where do you ride, Minnetonka?? Another thing is that maybe the jetboat doesnt absorb as much of the sound as V8 inboard.

| I usually go out to Prior here by burnsville. I have not been behind it but I have had to boat out just to see how loud the speakers are. I sat on shore and could hear them from hundres of yards away, while the boat was going at top speed. The boat is louder than most inboards I have been in.

Thanks for all the input. I am still trying to scrape together some more dough. I will let you know what I end up doing and how it works out.
