| Hey folks. I got a new iPod because my old generation one crapped out on me. The problem is that when I plug the little devil into my computer it doesn't recognize it. The computer understands that it's there but iTunes does not. How do I overcome this little issue? I recall originally I had to name the iPod & everything, now nothing. Thanks in advance. |

Did you install the new software that came w/ the ipod? Depending on the generation ipod you had before it won't go back...
Also, did you take your old ipod in and get $50?...b/c thats what Apple owes you due to a class action lawsuit. |

Thanks Daniel,e I got it figured out on my own. My little bro & I each got iPod's from Best Buy 11 months ago. Right before the new ones came out. We had the extended 2 year warranty from BB. He took his in cuz it crapped out. I haven't taken mine in yet. He had to pay $50 cuz they don't make a 15GB anymore & he had to upgrade. THye also made him buy a new warranty. It sounded pretty lame to me. Any idea if I can take my Best Buy purchased unit to an Apple store & get hooked up? I certainly don't wanna be strong armed into spending more $. Mine is sucking though, stupid thing. I love it but it freaks out once a week & is not better until the battery is completely dead and basically the whole thing resets itself. |

| Stephan, to answer your orignial question, just upgrade to the newest version of iTunes, either from the apple website or from the CD that came with your iPod. |
