| Losing Jackson wasn't the Lakers problem. Losing Shaq was the problem. |

Hockeyplayer, agreed.
jumalian, agreed. I really hope Kobe and Phil have come to an understanding, and next year won't be like this one. _________________

Four words for you Joe....
Vlade Divac Chris Mihm.
I don't know where the Lakers are in with the Cap....maybe they have some funds to look at Zydrunas Ilgauskas. All said, they are hurting at the 5.

Agreed. But Mr. Zen had a pretty good knack at getting production without a strong 5 back in Chicago. Didn't he only have Wennington and Longley for a bunch of those title runs.

You are correct, no great 5 in Chicago.... But he did have a guy named Michael Jordan w/ a side kick named Scottie Pippen. Maybe the best 1-2 punch the NBA has ever seen.
Kobe Bryant is no Scottie Pippen.
(edit) Forgot that they also had Rodman, who though not sized like a 5, could cover smaller 5's and cleaned the glass like nobodys business. That goes a VERY long way on championship runs.

Well they do have 6 free agents next year.
Problem is Phillip runs the triangle and doesn't get along with Kobe. Kobe hates the triangle but is now stuck there for awhile...reality sports anyone? _________________ Steal My Book

Unless Kobe's attitude changes, I believe Phil's just going to be spinning his wheels. At least he'll get to be closer to his woman. _________________
8824, dude - I suck. You were right.
. |

Thank god he's back, I was beginning to think the LA sports scene was running out of drama. _________________

At least they got a good coach, that's the first step to becoming a decent team again. They aren't going to be a great team, but they will be decent. Its all a matter of how Kobe plays and acts. I'm still waiting for the Blazers to get a coach |
