| i dont have a wakeboard tower, or a true ski/wakeboard boat either. i have a 17 foot bowrider, with a pylon at the back. i wanna know if anyone else has a similar pull without a tower or a sky-pole, and how big they are able to go on it.

| It doesn't matter what kind of boat you have or if you have a tower to get big air... I mean yeah it helps you alot if you have a tower or a wakeboard specific boat, but i've seen guys doing inverts behind a sea doo... its all in how you pop of the wake.

yeah check out the video relentless by liquid force , I believe its shawn watson doin some crazy stuff behind an I/O , my reasoning for this is that the camera is above the rope and the rope looks to be pretty low in the boat.

Yeah im in an 89 sea ray, wakes pretty good but no tower. Its a peice of cake going w2w behind it. But i think that having a tower will give u alot more hang time while u dont have to work quite a hard to get the pop. (my oppinion)

I've rode behind 19ft Master Craft Prostar for as long as I've wakeboarded. I can still get enough pop to throw some inverts. Its all in the pop.

I just sold an 10 year old I/O, because we are finnally getting a bu! It didn't have a pylon, tower, or fatsack and I was able to stick backrolls, scarecrows, tantrums, and I even stuck a raley once. (I pulled that out of my butt) So don't get discouraged just because you don't have a ski or wakeboard boat. Learning off of a crappy boat helps a lot because once you do get on a good boat EVERYTHING is easier to throw and everything you do throw will be twice as big.

tjrlake123, I bet. I have a 15 year old I/O now, unweighted and it takes some good effort to get in the flats and even more to get high. When I do ride behind wake boats, I get about twice my normal height.
tOme, Im riding all next week behind my I/O, Ill try to get some pics of just how big you can go.

hahaha i've been reading these posts for a long time now, and i've been waiting for someone to say they've stuck a tantrum on an I/O without a tower. That makes me feel a little more ballsy to go for it . thanks!

dude i've stuck backrolls behind 15ft outboards before.. just have to cut heaps more aggressively and push like hell off the wake to get the height.. they are doable though... have gotten around on a tantrum from other boats rollers too. No reason why you shouldnt be trying them =P

t0me,
"The first thing you will need to do is get out about 18 to 20 feet from the wake. You will then start a slow progressive cut back towards the wake. Build your cut up harder and harder as you get closer. This will, in turn, apply more pressure to your line. Hold your edge all the way up the wake. As you near the top begin to straighten your legs out. With your legs straight and the rope low and near your waist you will began to pop off the wake. Be sure to keep your head up and look ahead so you can spot your landing. On your way down be sure to absorb the landing well so you don’t slip out."

Here's a pic of me behind my 19ft i/o. We usually get about 5-6ft of air. Think thats about max with our wake

Impressive... I have an ob with no ballast, no tower, a (crappy) ski rope and up until now I rode hydroslide. Needless to say, I suck.
Finally I am getting a decent board and bindings and am gonna make up a no strech line for myself. This should help.
