|

Hola, me and some friends are thinking about building our first slider.. It will be a 40 ft half A-frame. The slider is already in the works, got the wood, plans, pvc (theres no trex in Mexico ) but since this slider will be placed permanently in a estuary im not really sure what to use to treat the wood with.. Salt water will penetrate and rot wood much faster, the bottom looks like a mixture of sand and mud, so i was wondering what to use to make this slider last.. Any help will be greatly apreciated..
This is a satellite image of the stretch of the estuary, the city NW is Mazatlan. Its a looooong sweet ride everytime.

We treated the wood with a sealant for the permanent slider but we could not test it.. It was a surprise to us that the estuary bottom has a very thick layer of a mixture of sand, clay, algae and a lot of damn critters. We did not even need to use the pile driver to put the 3 x 3 posts in place, simple body weight was enough.
Were using this wood to make a floating half rainbow This time were using paraffinated resin to completely seal the wood.. |
