Board size, and misc

I have a question. I've been skating for about two years and snowboarding a little. Wakeboarding sounds so much more interesting. But i don't know how long of a board to buy... I'm abot 5' 9" or 10"and i weigh roughly 130 pounds. Also whcih type of board should i buy for grinds and slides... won't fins get in the way? I'm looking at a Liquid Force Team package, whichj is six fin board. Please help this enthusiastic beginner.

Go for a size 132-136. I wouldn't recommend trying to hit rails when your new with a new board, usually more expiernced riders do it with an older board. But if you must, get a board with detachable fins.

I am your size and have been riding a 142 and hated every minute of it. My board was a piece of stuff. I am movin down to a 138. That should be your general area. LF team is a nice board but I've heard the bindings can be REALLY tight. if you like that then go for it. Also, what would you like in a board? Locked in loose ect. There's a thread on here that I brought back from the dead today that you would get alot out of. I'll post a link in a sec.

well... im very familiar with boardslides on skating ... and i was looking at a 130... is that too small?is there anything to make slides less damaging to a board? http://www.wakeside.com/page/W/PROD/liquid_force_wakeboards_packages/liquid_force_team_130_package this is what ive been looking at... post back

also i will practice on a trmpoline as i do with snowboards... should i detache all the fins for that and use a handle?

I wouldn't recomend jumping on a trampoline with a wakeboard on. fins or not

That 130 mught be a bit too small as well

If you hit a lot of rails your board will break eventually.

I would say that a 130 is too small for you.

Can you demo?

When in doubt, I encourage people to go with a bigger board. Unless you know for certain that a smaller board is for you, go with the bigger one. It will be more stable and forgiving.

Also, if you're not set on that shape, there are a ton of boards out there that fall in between those sizes. Let me know if you want any suggestions.
