you usually get what you pay for but since youre just starting, youre not really thrashing your trucks. if you do break them tho its not like you spent a lot so you should have some cash left over for another pair.

No, I didn't. Unless a fish board also goes by another name. The only thing I can think of is maybe a banana board, but I don't know what a bumper block is either so I don't know what to look for.

im assuming this is what she means by fish board.

i always thought that name was kinda lame. ive always called it an "old school" deck, pool board, or 80's board but have heard it called fish board quite a bit. i have one similar to the one pictured except mine is blue and thrashed. i still skate it quite a bit actually. something about doin ollies without a nose is so much fun.

go buy some tensors or something like that. the good trucks are good in a way cuz
1.)they grind better.
2.)they are lighter.
3.)ollie easier.
4.)stronger. (dont bend or crack)
5.)last longer.
6.) u can rely on them.

See, in the 80's, they weren't "old school" or "80's", etc. I remember calling it a fish board.

my first trucks were ventures, and they were handy downs, so they were all scratched. they still havent broke and i got new ones. im proably gonna stick to ventures, unless i have a chance to get tensors. ive heard theyre real strong for light trucks. and they have a plastic clider in the base to help with nose and tail slides. mullen designed them. but i would recommend tensors, or anything light like indipendents for a beginner. indys are wicked light, but weak, if youre a beginner, you have nothing to wory about. but once you start ollieng off higher things, youre gonna want to either stop using the indys, or cary come spare kingpins. yea, i type alot Very Happy

I don't know. I just remember calling it a fish board around '89 or so. I was only 9 or so, so I don't really remember that well.

A lot of trucks do actually. I have bent kingpins on 2 different trucks.. and on another set i actually had a crack all the way down the truck. It pays off to just get a good pair so they last long.

That's true, I can vouch for that personally. I managed to break 2 Indy kingpins just doing flatland nosebones. I do have a tendency to stomp my landings a bit hard, but I've never broken any of my Tensor kingpins either so Indy got the boot.
