Outer Banks June 11-18

I'll be in the Outer Banks June 11th to the 18th and would like to do some wakeboarding. I've got gas money and whatever so if you live in the area and would be willing to let me tag along let me know. thanks

There's really not a whole lot of wakeboarding going on on the OBX. Way too windy most of the time, and besides, with salt water or brackish water, you don't find many (if any) wakeboard boats. If you don't surf, then you should try some kiteboarding! It's a little tough to get going, but if you take a class, you can probably rent some equipment for the week.

Seriously though - I don't think you'll be finding much if any wakeboarding out there.

yea i was about to say the same thing davis, from what i understand there is alot of kite boarding that goes on up there...

Hatteras probably has the best kiteboarding in the US. Liability issues prevent shops from renting gear but you can sign up for lessons with Real, Kiteboarding Hatteras, or one of the other shops down there. Kitty Hawk is pretty far away and their location kinda sucks. I'd check out www.realkiteboarding.com first and then price compare with Kitesurfing Hatteras. Kiting is pretty damn sweet, its like wakeboarding behind a flying boat that you can control. Super easy air and butter-soft landings!

ahhh i think kite boarding would be fun but i dont feel like doing the whole lessons thing. thanks for the info though

adam- you going to wake the lake?? i think i'm leaving straight from outer banks and headed to lake norman. should be a good time as always
