I apoligize in advance for this question. I bet these posts pop up daily. Yes I know about the buyer's guide wizard, but the results seem to random for me.
I've been wakeboarding twice, and plan on going out alot this summer. I'd like to get my own board so my buddy and I can ride double sometimes, and so I can take it with me whenever I get the chance to go on a boat.
Anyway, I think I picked up wakeboarding fairly quick. I've been out twice, and am very comfortable getting up and carving in and out of the wake. I used to skateboard, rollerblade, BMX, and snowboard....so it came pretty natural to me. Still working on jumping the wake, though.
I find that with the board I rode at my Uncles, it seemed to hold me back carving--especially toeside. I felt like I was waiting for the board to turn. I'd like to not have that. Since I have no problem getting up, and staying up while carving is not a big deal now--is it safe to say I'm intermediate and should be looking at a more responsive board?
Most boats I'll be riding off will have small wakes, since they won't be wakeboarding boats, or prepped to make large wakes. However, I want to jump as high as I can with the wake Ill be on.
I'm thinking I want a shorter board for spins (Im 5'7" and ~145lbs).
What board would best suit me and my < $250 price range (Ideally $150 would be great--I'm willing to go used). |

| look on ebay, and try to find something used. thats your best bet. most decent boards are over your price range. you need to be riding like a 135 or so. |

You can also try Grizzly Sports. They have an area called "the Grizzly Den" that has closeouts and last year's models, plus occasionally they will have even better prices on blemished and/or demo boards. The downside is that they pretty much have only Hyperlite with a little Joyride thrown in, so if your set on LF or CWB forget it.

Looks like 2004 Temet BIOs and Byerlys are going for $220, 2004 Temet DNAs are $295, 2004 Premier for $250, 2004 TFD & Parks BIOs for $230. The lower level boards are all under $200.
