I can't believe that many people don't like them and I know it's been a discussion here before off and on, but I just don't understand how you can say you don't like them!

This is the only sport I can think of where you can fly like superman or do that smooth looking batwing. How can you say you don't like them? It's so unique! Is it just because you can't do them yet? Or don't like the hard falls you take learning and perfecting it?

Anyway, I don't want ot start a heated arguement about it, I'd just like to know why there's such a debate about this. They're cool, hands down, how can you not see that?

I forgot to add that I can't do them. I've given myself a good hour of confusion because of trying to do them and I will continue to try them.

alot of people dont like them because they cant do them. then theres those who watch other people who do nothing but raleys and think they are the most hardcore rider ever cuz they can "superman" and not anything else so they grow to dislike them. Personally i love any raley based trick, the feeling of being completely stretched out and relaxed in the air is fun to me. While i prefer to do inverts, then spins, then raleys, i'm not goin to say i dislike them because you look at some of the double up contests, Gators raley related tricks were huge, the somewhat raley related is Chad Sharpes Tail Glide, then this years Parks Massive Batwing(ts raley) are truly awesome looking tricks. People just get influenced by other opinions and go with that, obviously, this was more than just .02 but... Rolling Eyes Cool

I personally love Raley tricks. I wish I could do them. Someday I guess.

The quick answer is that they used to be scored way too high in competitions, and they're relatively easy (in comparison to a lot of spins and mobes) once you learn them. Under the old scoring system, you might see someone do a hoochie glide, switch krypt, s-bend, switch s-bend, vulcan, switch vulcan, and then 4 other tricks. Lame.

Personally, most raleys don't do all that much for me, but I can definitely appreciate some of the glide variations out there.
