I have a water leak in my engine and I was told I need to tighten my drive shaft. Can anyone give me some insight on how to do this? the engine is a Mercury Mercruiser MPI 315 HP engine. Thanks.

Hey 138DNAparks,

If its a typical stuffing box type shaft, you CAN overtighten it, so let us know where the leak is, how much, etc.

You may be able to either adjust it or repack it then adjust it...no biggie either way but we can't advise until we get more info....

Wes
