My new-to-me boat does not have a mirror. I'm shopping for a good mirror, any thoughts as to what brands and models are the best? _________________ Need a mortgage in Wisconsin? PM me! |

Get a good Cippa mirror.
The best mirrors have a curved face which gives you a wider range of view behind the boat.
And don't mount it too close to the driver or it becomes a big blind spot. And don't mount it too low or people might sit in front of it and render it useless.
Most people like a tower mounted articulating mirror because it give you the most flexibility for putting it in the best position. _________________ So, I've got that goin' for me...which is nice! |

I had a windshield mounted Cipa Mirror for the last 8 years and mine just broke this past weekend when the boat hit a big roller.
I will most likely go with a Cipa again If I can't get it fixed. |

molypod, Call cipa, they could very well replace it for you. I lost the glass out of mine when, um, well a swan ran into the windshield. I called cipa to order a new piece of glass and they asked no questions just got the size and shipping address and sent it all for free. Great company. |

You might be better off getting CIPA's top of the line mirror. It's 7x14 instead of 4x14 like the one in the link from Overton's. You wouldn't think that 3 inches would make a big difference, but it does. I've had both and I would definitely get the larger one. _________________ "I'm not a professional wakeboarder, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn last night". |

Nauty, good call. I didn't even notice it was only 4 in. tall. I was just looking at width. |

There aren't many towers you can go tower-mounted with due to the amount the tower sways/vibrates. Anything under 2" will be giving the mirror a good rattle. |
