|
|
So tired of landing in the middle, I took the rope up a bit and can now clear wake to wake easily when the boat is planing. While the wake is smaller, the gap is narrower so I get to land on the 'downramp' every pass. Jumped back and forth for awhile, then got my w2w 180's going as easily as I had done them into the middle before.
Question#1: is this 'cheating,' bad form, or undesirable in some way?
Seems like a great ego-boost and knee saver for beginners.
(Can't seem to hold the right speed from my In/Out board so this also gives me a consitant wake - other ways?) |

A lot of people do this it is perfectly ok.
Also put a 4 or 5 blade prop on your I/O to hold speed better. It makes a world of difference. _________________ There'll be two dates on your tombstone/ And all your friends will read 'em/ But all that's gonna matter is that little dash between 'em... |

It also raises the fuel bill.

| yah, but when it comes to wakeboarding no money can ever compare with the feeling of learning a new trick for the first time, well i mean unless it was A LOT of money, but seriously who gets that much money atr one time? but back to topic, its totally fine, as you get higher and land farther out you will want to lengthen your rope back to the original length to get yourself landing back on the downramp. keep it up though its a great sport! |

Good work, might just be riding a rope length a bit long for your wake anyways. As a general rule the smaller the wake the shorter the rope. Once you start buildign it up you can let that rope out a bit to find the 'meatier' part of the wake. Sounds like you have it all figured though so good work.. keep it up! _________________ Riding
