It looks like you're not getting enough height to complete the rotation. I'd work on your progressive edge a little more (see your other post) first.

It looks to me like your not holding your edge long enough. Make sure you can get a lot of air off the wake, and like bluefish86 said, work on your progressive edge.

wakeboardwillis has it mostly right. It doesn't take a super hard cut, Just carve 10-15 feet out and take a progressive edge in, carving up the wake with about 70% of your hardest cut, making sure you leave the wake tall and with more weight on your back foot, and once you leave the wake, throw your ear to back shoulder and tuck. Once you are 3/4 through your flip, spot your landing and untuck. It will be trial and error to see how much you have to untuck, but you will get the feel for it.

It looks like you're not popping off the wake enough before you rotate. Really focus on riding all the way up the wake and then lean to your tail to start the rotation. You can pretty close on the last attempt because if you watch you actually rode all the way up the wake. You don't have to "huck it." If you ride up all the way to the top of the wake and lean towards your tail you'll flip around easily.

I'm with Brad...you're throwing it too early, wait a little more, straighten your legs and just lean back.

aev, read the trick tips on wakeboarder.com for the backroll. If you get a video of yourself we can let you know what to work on.

aev, OPEN YOUR EYES...It will help you, I experienced the same thing when I was learning, with your eyes open you CAN tell where you are, and spot the landing.

Those look like some painfull falls. It really looks like you are cutting super hard, then flattening out. Like Ctipping said, don't cut out so far and make a nice progressive cut towards the wake.

dude go back and practice your progressive edge, it looks like the rope length was way to long for ya and as a result you were edging hard at the beginning but not following through and just like the other guys said tryin to huck the flip.

I'll take a stab....although it looks good to a point, if you pause the vid, you'll notice that you flaten out and you are already leaning on your back foot at the trough. This is forcing you to leave the wake off balance a bit. When you land, the handle is away from your hips so you get pulled off balance even more. It's really very close though! Great job.

Eric

haha the sound that guy makes is awesome. alright your doing what i did when i first started. i didnt have time to read all of the other posts so if im repeating anything im sorry. dont cut out so far just cut out like 2/3 as far as you are now. then start cutting slower and be cutting the hardest at the wake. dont let off of that edge or you wont get enough height and the rotation wont be fast enough. you will get it with time you look alot similar to me when i was first trying it.
