I just got a 2004 Hyperlite Motive with bindings for $300 at a local shop (didn't want to buy online). Since I'm still very new to the sport I'm wondering what you guys think? Is that a good board for a beginner? Is that a fair price? I also noticed online that the newer Motive boards cost LESS than the 2004 model, what's up with that?

Only negativee is the binding are probably a bit big for me, but I'm going to call and see if I can switch them out. BTW, since there's no easy way to try the thing on in the store, how in the heck are you supposed to know if it fits?

Thanks!

Hey pickled,

Lots of shops will let you demo a setup...the Motive's a great board - there are many, many tricks in that board, you'll discover them...
