Pop the tail, jump, drag your front foot forward as you suck both knees to your chest. Most of all, keep practicing.

Do what Jester said and make sure you stay centered over the board and do not scoop your back foot. It helps to hold onto something around as high as your hips when learning so you don't fall as much. If you wakeskate I would imagine it would come easy for you.

Stand next to a table or rail about waist height and use this to push yourself up when you ollie. It gives u a lot more height and therefore more time to do everything else. Also, practice, practice, practice. It took me about six months to learn how to ollie, and I still can't do it that well so don't worry if it takes you a long time.

Keep practicing Silver girl, you'll get it. Just remember to suck both your knees to your chest & you'll be good.

It might sound scary, but it helps a ton to learn them while moving- everybody I've talked to agrees that learning to ollie on carpet, or with your wheels in the grass, in a crack, etc., just retards your ability to do anything else after you've learned how to ollie, because you don't learn the forward/back balance of ollieing while moving. Just a suggestion.

I can see it now: getting a barefoot waterskier pole and hanging it out of the car and skating while holding on to it- if you fall, you can just drag your knees on the cement until you lift back up. Why hadn't anybody thought of that before??

It took me a couple months to learn to ollie, and I am still not very good at it.
I am workin on kickflips, heelflips, and pop shuv its, but somehow the board stays in the air longer than I do. I can do the tricks (as in make the board do it) but can't land them (as in I don't land back on the board).

But I got of the topic, just keep at it and it will come ( the ollie that is).

You really have to snap down your tail and drag up your front foot. It might take a week or two but keep at it.
