I am currently considering a 01 21v as mentioned above with under 300 hrs and was wondering what are the reviews for that boat? Good/bad? Ive heard mixed reviews and search didn't provide much info. Besides that, a 99 xstar with 700 hrs, and a 2000 sunsetter which has around 360 hrs.
We really like the Tige but I want to know what are the pros and cons. Im sure they are all pretty similar but I need more info in general.
Thanks

| I ride behind an 01 21V almost more than I do my own boat. I love it and it's one of my favorite boats. We run about 1500 to 2000 lbs in it and throws up a nice moderate wake that's not too steep but has a nice pop at the end. It's really roomy inside w/tons of storage. It drives and holds speed well w/o pp, but make sure you change the prop if you are putting a lot of weight in it. It also has a a kick ass wake surf wake. The only problems he's had w/it is the taps, we constantly have to put fluid in it as it leaks. Hopefully he'll get it fixed this season. The only thing that sucks about it is the metcaf tower, it's rattles a lot and we have to constantly tighten the bolts.

good to hear.. def sounds nice.
also someone told me that for that year they used wood stringers and they tend to rot and stuff... Whats up with that? and how likely is it to get an 01 that would be rotting away???

| The rotting wood rumors are bs. If you do a search you will find lot of info on it. Don't worry about it, it's not going to rot. You may want to check out www.Tigeowners.com for more in depth info.

I ride behind a Tige 21V a lot as well and I think it is a great boat. It has a ton of room and throws a very nice wake. The Tige boats are also great because they can handle rough water really well. I was in Powell this last weekend on a Tige 22V and a 24V and both of them handled the main channel chop like it was nothing. The older 21Vs do still have the spray pockets on the hull though but I do not notice any difference in the wake myself. The tower on the 21Vs is not the best but it does fold down very nicely and seems to do the job on the boat that I ride on. I have even thought about buying one of the used 21Vs myself. I do not think you will be disappionted with this ride especially if you ride at a lake that tends to get choppy and you like the flexability that the TAPs system provides for the wake.
Here is a pic of Tino Santori chilling on my buddy's 21V tower in Colorado before he went big time. Tino always loved the Tiges and now he is one of their primary riders.

I used to own a 2002 21V and loved it (same hull and engine, different tower). I upgraded to a 24V only for the extra room. The surf wake was killer, and I liked the wakeboarding wake a lot.
I would inspect the seats closely for signs of wear. The seams that run lengthwise are a point where a lot of stress is generated when you step on them. I've heard of some coming apart relatively early on. I had no problems with my seams at 100 hours when I sold her, though.

My friend's has the Fox edition as well and it is almost exactly like the one you have shown except for the tower. Good luck on getting the boat and you should be very happy with your new ride.

Make sure you budget enough cash into the equation to close up all those split seams in the interior!
