whenever I do a hoochie I always make sure i leave the wake before i go for the grab , sometimes if i think about grabbing it too early it will throw me way off. I also learned with taking a slightly lighter cut than my normal raley. hope i helped good luck

I've tried hoochies a few times, and i had the problem of leaving the wake with one hand already off trying to get the grab early. Not a good idea. So my only advice (from tryinga dn not landing) is to take a lot shorter cut, and make sure you go for the grab after leaving the ake. Also if you're hanging on with one hand and you don't get the grab, don't let go cause you can still pull it down with one hand

very true about the softer cut than the normal raley.... also helps me to think about getting down into the curl, waiting for the pop, then reaching back. remember to look toward the boat to keep square.

I would say take a pretty solid cut. I've tried a couple..... First one I took a raley cut, did fine just came down fakie. Second time, took an easyer cut.... didn't bring it in all the way. caught my edge. it freaking hurt. so I would say don't be a wuss, go take a nice hard cut. then once you get it down, ease up the cut.

Definitely cut in completely different than a raley. Start out with a good progressive edge, bending a lot trying to pop at the wake really well. Cut in fairly hard, i think of it as a big grab cut but not leaning all back like a raley. Cut in, pop good, grab before going back with it. Then depending on the pop, adjust the extension and everything. A simple trick really
