subjekt, substance, balance

trying to decide on a new board currently riding the first hyperlite byerly, don't like it cuz its too locked in when cutting into the wake, looking for something flotier with a nice smooth ride and easy yet massive pop.
Im looking for personal opinions on these boards from people who have ridden them

get the subjekt
it has a 3 stage rocker, gives you lots of pop, and is loose enough that it's fun, but when you edge into the wake with the cupped fins, it works great!
yeah... I like mine a lot

try to demo the boards first. or ask other ppl round here if they have rode them and get there opinions. but i just bought th 03 balance

The subjekt is a good board, but my suggestion would be to get a balance...It is basically the same board as the subjekt, but with a center fin on it. If you get the balance you can try it out and if you think it is too locked in, remove the center fins. It is more of a board that can vary by changing little things.

As everyone always says you should demo boards, just to make sure that you are getting the right board for you.

i like the substance. it sets low in the water, three stage rocker, molded fins, huge pop. I love this board. agressive to the wake. freedom in the flats. if you have the chance DEMO.

I definately agree with garveyj. I've been riding the '03 balance 135 for a few months now and love it. Heaps lighter than my old byerly and nearly as poppy. I ride it without the centre fins and stuff out in the flats is so easy and the cupped fins lock right in when on edge. On choppy days centre fin goes back in and it goes great.

I like it heaps better just on side fins, its gets a bit too fast and on rails for me when on edge with centre fins, but yeah, demo for sure.

Other boards to look at: Hyperlite Belmont and Premier, Double Up Nelson, CWB Absolute, Origin Podium.

Demo out these boards also, seems like you are limiting yourself to Liquid Force, a great company they maybe and I'm glad to see them back in the game, but they can't provide the "best" for everyone.

id go with the subjekt or the balance but you have to ride them and see what you like
