My buddy needs to replace the batteries in his boat and I was wondering where the best place to buy Optima Blue tops is right now.

I have heard that if you have a costco in your area they are cheapest there. _________________ Brent B

| Agreed... I just got mine from Costco, and for some reason I can't find them on their website anymore. |

I got my blue top deep cycle optimas at elliots hardware here in Dallas for $112 each. I'd call around the interstate dealers in your area to see who has the best deal. Online I couldn't find anything for less than $150 with shipping. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |

This is starting to get on my nerves. My buddy and I have made it into both Sam's Wholesale Club as well as Costco here in Orlando (FL), and neither stock Optima batteries. As a matter of fact the guy I spoke to at Costco thought I was nuts for even looking for Optima batteries at a 'Club' store. I can order the batteries on-line but would prefer to buy them locally if possible.
Any other ideas? Anyone? Bueller, Bueller........... |

The guy you spoke to was an idiot - a simple check of their inventory system would have found them (wife works at Costco so I know this is fact). They have been at Costco around here for a few years now.
Find them online somewhere, then try to get a local store to price-match. _________________

i USED TO SELL BLUE/ YELLOW/ RED tops for a living.
I bought them at quantity for 50 bucks a pop and sell them to the stores for 65/ 70 for the blues. These guys would buy 20-30 at a time and they probabally sold 'em for 100 to 125% profit.
They make other dry cell batteries now.............
Optima isn't your only choice eventhough I forget the names of the other brands. |

I am not 100% but I thought I saw them at Sears. Give the nearest Sears a call and ask if they have them. I think they had a few different blue and yellow tops.. I dont know which one you need so make sure you know before you call. _________________ no matter how fine she is. Some one, somewhere is tired of her crap! |

Anybody heard of or dealt with the following company? DC Battery Specialists (Miami, FL)
They quoted me the following pricing on the batteries I'm looking for.
-- Optima Marine 34M Starting Battery - $116.00 to my door
-- Optima Marine D34M Deep Cycle Battery - $145.00 to my door
Is this pricing any good? Doesn't look like the best pricing to me, but it also doesn't look too far off either.

I got a 34m for 117 shipped from Remy Battery on Ebay. The deep cell was about 145$ shipped. Costco by me had group 31 red tops but no group 34. _________________ Silver Skurfer |

BigDeal, I got a D34M at a local shop for $112+tax. Call around to different local interstate battery dealers. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone. |
