I don't know about the rest of you, but I sure do enjoy wathcing new riders progress when they come out with me. I am by no means an advanced rider, but it sure is pretty funny to watch some falls from beginners. We had my buddy from work with us today (3rd time riding ever) and he is already trying to W2W jumps. He has some very entertaining faceplants today and he was able to laugh them off and keep on riding. Do the rest of you enjoy this as well?

We keep an old Free Motion board in the boat for people learning to ride. In the summer we generally have a new rider out once every week or so.

I do, I think that is why wakeboarding is so much fun.

Yea , its great. The only thing that makes it a lot better is if they are willing to try new tricks and listen to your advice.

LFADAM, I agree. It always annoys me when people bash the new riders , saying they're only over-populating the sport.

I always welcome new boarders, patient in helping them, have extra board, wetsuits and jacketsl but appreciate it if they know their time limits and help with the gas after the first time,
if they Bogart a few times after that...not so welcome

I enjoy teaching people to ride. We have had several people learn on our boat.
The best part is how excited they get when they learn new "tricks". The whole boat erupts in cheers the first time they get up, go over the wake, get back in the wake, and make it through their first turn around.

The bails can be spectacular as well. The first time my brother came out riding, he became the king of faceplants. Every bail was the same thing... His back foot would start swinging around to the front, he would catch his front edge and WHAM! I have no idea how he survived.
These are a couple of the bails... [/url]http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=8528

goinbig143, haha. Those ring a bell.

k9fxr, I know what you mean. I take this guy out that takes hour long sets of just riding around and doing one wake jumps. I try and get him to do new stuff and speed the boat up (he likes it at 16) so he can clear the wake but he doesnt want to. But whatever, hes fun to have around.

Ahh yes.... the first time out faceplant or the "Welcome to Wakeboarding" as I've heard it called several times.

Always a good laugh (provided no one's hurt) because everyone's done it. The real test is if they keep boarding after that.
