Can someone put a picture of a board and show where the rocker on the board is? im buying a new board and people keep telling me about the rocker type but i dont even know where that is on the board. _________________ Forum SnowBoards
the "rocker" is the shape of the board if you look at it from the side. Herre's a diagram of the 2 types of rockers. The first is a continuous which means that the board curves equally throughout the bottom. The second is a 3-stage. This means the board is relatively flat on the bottom and curves abruptly at the edges.
A continuous rocker is more consistent off the wake and will pop more out and up. A 3-stage is less consistent and generally for more advanced riders and will pop you more straight up in the air. _________________ You have just entered the twilight zone.
If you are new to the sport a consistant pop will allow you to progress fairly quickly as you get relatively the same pop each time.... definately makes it easier for new riders to clear the ake because you get a little more distance... Think about snowboard jumps the really long jump is alot like a continuous rocker where as the short and steep jumps are alot like a 3-stage.
ok thanks. so your saying if im new to the sport and i can clear the wake but i cant do any spins or flips than to stick with the continuous rocker? _________________ Forum SnowBoards
