I have a Malibu wakestter that I want to put a sub in. Any advice on where to install it would be appreciated. I don't think I have enough room on the drivers side and on the passanger side it gets muffled really bad. The only idea I have so far is to cut a hole under the passanger side seat so the sound can get out. Has anyone done this? if so please send pics. Twisted Evil

If you have a good powered sub you wouldn't need a port for the sound.

George is right, I have had 4 bu's and until this year always complained about the sound coming out. So this year I put one sub under the drivers area and another in the passenger area. I also went to 12 Adire brahmas with 900 watts each from 10 clarions last year, and the basslink the year before. They either changed the seat back or the susb are just waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy louder because even when I did not have the drivers side sub in the sound was great and muffled a little, but there was so much bass it did not matter.

It would also help if you dont have a high powered sub to face it twards the right so the sound hits the wall next to the walk through.

I mounted my infinity Basslink under the driver side dash. In my opinion, it sounds much better there than under the passenger storage area. It is also out of the way, and you would not even know it is there until you turn the radio on of course!

..We have an 00 VLX & we have a JL 15 under the observer seat compartment and installed dual JL audio Micro sub 8" subs on the drivers foot rest facing up-wards. Worked out awesome and the mounting was a breeze. We lost alot of room with the JL 15 but that was my choice.

Check out the dual 8" JL Micro sub you will be impressed how it performs.

..I have on 00 VLX Wakesetter. We installed a JL 15 under the observer seat area and two - (2) JL Micro Subs 8" under the drivers area ontop of the foot rest facing up.

Mounting was a breeze. Fit like a glove. Check the Micro sub enclosure out you will be amazed how it performs.

I have a few amp questions for you guys. I am putting 2 JL 12 W3's with 4ohm DVC's in my 2000 wakesetter. I have a JBL 1200.1 amp already and my questions are: will this amp push these speakers with enough power? How should I wire it? And will I be able to hear these from under the observers seat? Thanks. Any suggestions would be great.

is the 1200.1 1 ohm stable? I am guessing the amp is 1200 watts? I think 600 watts/sub is plenty of power to hear uner the seat or... across the lake.
If you want to run the amp at 1 ohm do this:
1. Bridge the amp and run two (sets of) wires out of it.
2. Hook the wires to the first set of terminals on speaker 1
3. Run a jumper wire to the second set of terminals on speaker 1
4. Run the second set of wires from the amp to speaker 2 and hook it up the same as speaker 1

yES, IT IS STABLE DOWN TO 1 ohm. That is exactly what I was thinking I should do. Thanks for the help... I also have another 12 w3 that I am going to run under the drivers side off a different amp. I hope that is enough to get some good sound.

I had 2 10's behind my observers seat and was not happy with them. I was always riding around with the seat up to hear them better. I built an enclosure for 1 10 and put it under the driver area and it sounds way better.

I'm using cheap MTX subs with no more than 200 watts though.
