What she's saying is that even if you buy the $14 deck off Ebay & it ends up being cheesy you'll still get your money's worth.
I always buy blank, they're definitely worth it, I'd go for it if I was you.

Jester, thanks for clearing that up for me Jester
I've never tried blanks, are they as good as name-brand decks? Do they have good pop? Does the pop last a decent amount of time?

wakechick182, often times the blanks are as good or better than non-blanks. They're also WAY cheaper. Especially on ebay.

Big ditto on that. Although if you hunt around you can usually find local skateshops that have similar deals to Ebay.

the thing about blanks is you dont know what quality it is. Where if you buy an element or aws or something they are all gonna be about the same but blank decks are made by many different companies, some are good some arent. i used to buy all my decks from blankdecks.com bu i bought one and it snapped after only a few skates. a simple flatland varial flip and the nose snapped. that shouldnt happen on a well made deck. now i buy blanks from local shops they are a little bit more but i have it in my hands the day i buy it and dont have to wait for it to be shipped.

Ohh sorry I understand the question now. I am actually wondering the same question. I may just buy one and hope that it works out haha. Has anyone rode this enjoi skateboard? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=16263&item=7152285667&rd=1
It's 20 bucks, which is only like 5 or 6 more than the blanks on there. I don't know much about enjoi it's just an idea.
Sorry didn't want to hijack this thread it's just another cheap skateboard on ebay.

I hear mixed reviews about Enjoi (as you will with any company). If it's $20 I say it's worth a try. I went through a phase where I bought a ton of big company decks off Ebay for a while, that's how I discovered my love for Habitat & DNA decks. Then I discovered blanks & I've never gone back.

colefooter, hijack away if you wish. My thread is your thread. There are also some completes on there with some trucks that i've never heard of. I wonder if they're any good.

numbfoot, to answer your question, the trucks that come with those boards SUCK. My bro got an element complete for like $50 bucks on there just to have as a backup with backup parts, and the trucks were horrible. They were really heavy and he broke the kingpin in like a month.

I bought the 8" blank. I don't really care how good it is. I've been riding since like '85 but I still pretty much SUCK.

Just a flat land one. I have landed a couple sketchy ones before, but this was my first really clean one. They are really inconsistent though.

I got the new skate deck, it looks pretty nice. I rode it around a little, it seems to have a pretty nice shape to it, and it hasn't broken in the 5 minutes i rode it! Here are some pics of the skateboard it self.

It seems like I can ollie higher, i ollied over a gas can which i couldn't do before (Not sure how high it is). I'm not that great, and I haven't rode many skateboards, but the pop seems definatly good, especially for a 20 buck skate deck.
