With the rediculous number of people who constantly forget to replace their drain plug, why don't they just make it a little one-way valve or something??? just in case you did forgot it would leak slowly if at all.

Just an idea

wouldnt you then need some sort of pressure to open the valve to drain the boat, that would be ok if your boat was quite full because you would get header pressure, but for that last bit it would be a pain

West Marine has them in their catalog. The plug hole has a one-way in it so water can drain out but not in.

I think yacht have one way drains fitted as stock. That way if you take on a clatter of water you dont sink - I think. Confused
