The wife allowed me to get rid of our 1999 Bayliner and get a sn2001 if I promised to build her a place to layout.
After many months, cardboard mock ups, and alot of measuring, it is finally done. Now I have to start making cushions.
I was very unimpressed with my Evids on the tower so I decided to use them for rear speakers, and they rock inside the boat.
Everything turned out well so far. The middle of seat also can be turned so people can watch the rider. In the outdoor pictures it is upside down because the seat base isn't cover with vinyl yet. The hinges on the sundeck lids will be covered with vinyl once the upholstery is done.
It is nice to have more storage too, or a place for a fatsack in the back if I want. |

Few more pics. Try to focus your eyes on the back seat.
I used 1/2" HDPE for most of it. I used plywood to finish it after the price of HDPE went up 30% in less than 2 months |

Looks real good!!
Question for you. Have you installed a stereo yet in your 2001? The reason why I am asking is I just picked up my 85 2001 and I am trying to figure out the best place to mount it. |

Brando-do a search for 85sn2001 and you will find my post on the stereo. Hope your as happy with your 85sn2001 as much as I am with mine. Post some pics if you get a chance.
SinkoumnThe middle seat base is easy to turn around. It has a handle cut in the front and back, just lift it up and turn is around.

85sn2001- Your stereo location looks good! I am going to look at my boat tonight and see if I can squeeze a stereo in the same spot.
I just picked mine up from the dealer on Monday. I have yet to splash it. Here is a pic. I also had the dealer install a Monster Tower. |

Looks great. I was thinking what about making a sundeck that came up almost all the way to the motor box with 2 jump seats that sat beside the motor. Then making some kind of flip up seat in the sundeck, like the session boat has. You wouldnt lose any seating just floor space. But you would add alot of storage.
I have been looking at 2001's on the net, never seen one in person, and was thinking this would help out with storage and hiding sacs. The only thing is I dont know in person how big they are or how important that floor space is.
Just an idea, maybe bad but maybe not |

unless you are a saskatoonian lumberjack, they make really nice beveled edges. But other than that, they can't make stuff for shizzle. _________________ Brent B

killer tits.....y did u buy a boat without seats? I didnt really focus on the seat pictures, but your seats look decent, even tho a bit more $$ could have gone to the project instead of your wifes jugs. |

Thanks guys. I knew there would be at least one moron making a stupid comment.
Anyway, everything has been delayed since I decided to replace the carpet last weekend. Got all the stock peices carpeted, getting 2 golf cart batteries today, running all new battery cable this weekend and hope to have the front seat base I fabricated carpeted and installed after I carpet the sub box, get it wired, and tied down under the bow. Then mount the amps, volt meter/distribution box, battery switch. Then I am making the stock battery box into a glove box by plugging all the holes and making the bottom flat.
It gets exciting when you can see enough progress to get an idea of what it is going to look like when it's done. Pics will soon follow.
Also I need advice on good upholstery work in the Sacramento area. Any suggestions and pics would help |

Well pointblank12, he didn't have his wife pose in the pictures so that you could comment on her eyes, that's for sure! That's a great boat man! My parents bought theirs new and it has been great! No problems in 20+ years! The wake is perfect because you can make it super tall without getting super wide. I still love riding behind it, even more than by 01 tige! _________________ DL |
