wakessories,
Thank you, it worked when I posted, go figure.

joedirt00,
Made out of 6" ID aluminum with 6 5/8" OD. The back was welded on then, machined smooth to make it look like one piece. Each one is 12" long with binding post for speaker connections, speakers are Kickers 6 1/2". I also had them powder coated gloss black. The mounts were machined also. Total cost, one 9" Ford Rear End, for the machine work and aluminum then, $200.00 for speakers. Not to bad a cost I thought Wink

The longer cans give a larger volume, which is a good thing. I first thought they were from http://www.tubeacoustics.com which look kinda similar. How do 6 sound, gotta love it? I'm about to go from 4 to 6!

MonsterTower,
From what my kid say's six sounds great (to cold for me in that water Puppy Eyes ). You can hear the music clearly and just make out the bass that I have. I am only pushing 500 watts to the tower, 400 watts to the solo-baric L7 12".

okay so if they are 4 ohm drivers how many channels are you powering them with (just curious if you are running a 2ohm load on your boat amp, battery or alternator upgrades, capacitor, that kind of thing)

Looks great!
I am split between building my own cans or just buying the Bazooka tubbies for $350+ with mounts...

410fortune,
I'm running a 5 channel amp. 4 channels to the tower and 1 to the sub. I added another battery for total of two batts. I did not upgrade the alternator but, I will upgrade soon as the alternator in the boat will not keep up with the draw from the amp. As far as what you will do, look around at different shop's for prices and price out material. Then weight out the fact that you have a one of a kind or the same as everyone else. To be the same or not to be the same?

hahahaha you are preaching to the choir, I drive a 88 bronco II with 276K miles on her, shes got a 5.0L V8 and 35" tires and is completely custom. No car payment in over 10 years now. to be different is the answer.

You running just head unit power to the speakers int he boat then?
I have been installing systems since I was 16 (32 now) and like to keep them simple, single amp, looks like you dod a good job.
I have a 3 channel amp in the boat, 1 to the sub at 2ohm and the other 2 to the soon to be tower speakers, the 4 ea coaxials int he boat will get deck power....

Nicely done, love those cans...I will likely just buy some Bazooka Tubbies for $300 something, I am back and forth about building my own cans, I would use fiberglass to shape them cone like....

Yes, I am just running head unit power to the speakers in the boat.

You probably all ready know this but, one trick with fiberglass is to use styrofoam to mold your cans then glass over that. When done pour thiner in to eat out styrofoam.

Good luck on your choice as it took me some time to decide. When your done post some pic's would like to see what you decided.
