thanks, do you know how we could make the wood curve into the rainbow? 15 feet i mean i guess i can always lengthen or shorten the lines that are towing the slider but i think we want it as longas possible-

ok guys well i decided to go ahead and build this thing while i was grounded for pretty much no reason this weekend...but anyways i took a 16ft 2x4 and cut notches 3/4" deep every 2 inches, then put a 12" piece of 2x4 in the middle perpendicular to it. then i put a stright piece on the bottom and bent the notched 2x4 to the straight piece and screwed it down. Then i made supports evenly distributed at different heights to make the curved board into a rainbow shape. I repeated all of this and made two rainbow trestles if you will and then made crossbars of 2x4 and connected them about 8" apart. This thing is incredibly strong and camp out better than i thought. The only trouble i ran into was that the second slotted board was sorter than the first so the supports are uneven when they are next to eachother. Next im going to build it up on to 4x4s and cover the sides with 1/4 plywood and paint it. I will finish it by putting a trex type composite decking on top. All the wood cost me around 70$, and i already had the screws needed. The only thing that will be costly is the decking surface im using to slide which runs about 27$ a board at home depot(u will need two)- Just thought u guys could all make your own! I will post pics soon hopefully.

I woulden't work too well because the slider would be movingat the same speed you would be, which would = not being able to slide on it. _________________ Graphic Composites for only $39, how good does it get! GraphicXpert.com

people, people, people.....i hear many discussing the money issue, while the answer is this: go to a construction site @ night and "borrow" many 16 ft 2x4's...we built my frind's skateboard halfpipe for 100 bucks (10 ft wide, 30 ft long, 5 ft. tall). Tonight we are going to our school and taking 10 planks of trex (thats what their picninc tables are made out of). When you're low on money, you gotta make due with your surroundings.

yeah its gonna be a toughy because our school just installed a security camera in that part of the school. But it is spring break, maybe they wont be on, and we are going to go mission impossible on their asses, hopefully just come out un-noticed...we'll se how it works out, ill keep you updated. Oh, and theres like 10 different picnic tables with 10 planks on each so i think we're ok on the amount, only taking like 5 or six planks
