Is my johnson 175hp outboard motor going to create an unfavorable wake?

Another sportfisherman, finally. I go behind a Mako 17 with a 90 johnson. You won't have a very good wake but it you weight it out well it can be better. I'll go look at a pic and see what it's like under the water line.

Ouch, that's a bass boat buddy. They don't have a wake. I was thinkin a center console. If it had more deadrise and slightly more draft it would be better but it doesn't so buy ome sacs, and find a friend with awakeboat. Very Happy

yeah why just board or just fish when you can do both? The boat has pretty good power but I havent even seen it yet besides in pics i just bought it on e bay. Got it for 10,000 and average retail on it is 18,000 so i think i got a sweet deal.

I hear that I ride behind a 21ft grady white with a yamaha 225. Puts out a monster wake. Real hard to go w2w after just 1 season. Can get real high but not far.

Glad to see another person with an outboard also. I ride behind a star craft deep vee. It puts out a nice wake for me that gives me plenty of learning room.

I grew up riding behind my parent's proline 23 with a 200 merc outboard...another sport fisherman.

I must say that other than a tige 22v, I haven't found a wake I like better.

Trim the leg up a bit and it will make the wake bigger and cleaner.

Word to the Johnson 175...I ride behind a Boston Whaler outrage 20. The wake sucks. When you throw weight in the boat, it can't plane out. Make friends with some peeps with a wakeboard boat...

Trimming the motor up some will work wonders on the wake size.
