I used tower clamps from Raul and some 1 3/4" tubing with carriage bolts. The bolts go through the quick release plate (minn kota trolling motor mount cut in half) and through the tubing and screw into the tower clamps. For the arm I used a piece of 1/2" solid aluminum stock. I used an after market tripod mount head. It works great. Tracks the rider with no vibration. Total cost $150.00..............M.

Nice job. I wanted to do something like that this year. That is one hell of a camera though. When are we going to see some video clips??? _________________

Looks real nice! Does that fit through your storage shed door or do you have to take it off? Does the camera stay rather stable when towing or do you pick up a lot of vibration from chop? _________________ DL |

That camera would get destroyed over here in cold wet Ireland - However the mechanism looks really excellent.
I thought of doing that years ago but never got round to it. How tight do you keep your shot (close, medium wide?) how does it work with bumps etc?
Excellent work. _________________ Wakeboarding is so Kool in Ireland! |

dliguori, My boat garage is only 10' tall at the door header so I made the top section with a quick release. Two wing nuts and it comes right off. It has no vibration at all. Most cameras have shot stabilization. Nice and smooth.
AndyDeeJay, I zoom in and out while I am filming the rider. I now have a wide angle lenses so I can zoom in close and still never crops the rider or go out of the frame. Close enough to catch the oh s**t expression on there face right before they face plant. |
