That is such a random mix of brands. Favorite for what? I have favorites for everything. But not one favorite for the whole industry.

Just remember you're 15, many people have been on the hills longer that you have been alive. Someone could easily mistake you for the same person you are describing.

Who cares what someone else does, wears or is. I saw a guy this year with a brand new burton package: Baron ES, SL-7s, P1 Carbons, full AK outerwear and an Ipod to boot. Did he look funny because he could barely link turns? Yes. Does it matter to me when I'm out riding (meaning do I give a damn when I'm thinking about my line), absolutely not. What effect does it have on me? Some sucker paid way too much for his gear, thus providing more money for R&D so I can have better equipment in the future.

Enjoy riding, and be glad you have the ability to do so, that's all that really matters.

ps you wanna talk posers, what about all the "forum kids" just after Pete started the company, those kids were some serious tools. Wink

Pretty sure this is like my ninth season shredding, and the only 05 stuff I have is my jacket. Boots I've had a season, all my pants and other jackets I've had a season or two, bindings are two seasons old, boards are last years. I don't see how my comment was indicating in any way that I get all new sh** every year. I don't even see how my comment warranted your response.

I have come to the conclusion that these people calling other people posers usually are the posers themselves and they are just trying to sound cool and worry about other people way to much and should just worry about themselves.

Get over it cresent, its kind of ironic you ask this on a wakeboard site since "posers" on the water spend over 50k on a boat etc.

I find that most people that scream and yell poser are those just barely better than beginners anyways. Rolling Eyes

Elevation, still lovin the Andromedas. I'm on like my third one now, and they're sick. A little bit on the stiff side for control and pop, which is good for me since I'm not much of a jibba. Theres still a lot left from the good press in all sizes, so... everyone should buy one from me.

I guess you could say that. It's kind of an interesting situation with that whole company. Definitely hit me up when you want a new board.

exactly - the poll only has 1 real snowboard company - Burton. forget capita, ride, forum, LibTech, Drake, 32 and T9.

i've ridden a lot of stuff and it has to do a lot more with what you pay for it than what brand it is. I've had shitty burton bindings and awesome burton bindings, same thing with boards and boots. and they last longer too, my Ride SPi's (with burton capstraps) are rocking a lot longer than most people's cheap bindings.

Besides until your really riding for a while you can't feel the differance in boards anyway - and mess with your stance a little and the board feels entirely differant.

$200 for any board. Could maybe do cheaper if you wanted the capped model, but the sidewall is the best.

Method9455, What do you mean Burton is the only "Real" snowboard company? LibTech, how is LibTech not a real snowboard company? It is rider owned and opprated. LibTech is a divison of Mervin Manufacturing, which also makes Gnu and Bent Metal Bindings. Mike and the other guy(forgot his name) live in the northwest, ride at baker all the time, and surf at Westport.

Capita, was started by, and I believe is owned by Jason Brown former pro snowboarder.

Burton is becoming all corporate and stuff. I think its still run by jeff but still its seems like its run more like a Corporation then a snowboard company. They still make some rad stuff though.

Just my 2 cents.

jryoung, hmmm. i think you are right... hahaha. Before it was bought out by Quicksilver... unless it was always backed by Quicksilver.... I don't have the whole histroy... But I've got a couple friends that now all the guys that pretty much run Mervin and from what I've heard they are pretty cool about how they run things... but I guess I could be completely wrong. ......

Quik bought Mervin around 1998 iirc. Quik pretty much lets them have free reign on everything though. Things could be changing here real soon since Quik just bought Rossignol. They are going to produce some Mervins in Europe now and some Rossignols in WA. It is going to help cut costs in distribution.
