I'm finishing my tower lights this week. Little bit of welding to do. I'll let you know how they turn out.

Well, it was the first full weekend of nice weather this year, so the Spring grage cleaning and yardwork kinda took priority, bu this is what I have so far. I have to do the conections amd a little pilishing and it should be good to go. The tube is 2" 316L stainless tube .065 wall thickness. This is pharmaceutical grade tubing, very high dollar material, good thing I install this stuff for a living, so the cost was $0 Very Happy .

Heres a couple shots of the front.

Thes caps were of the same material and is orbital welded by a machine. once you set your program up and it comes up good, your welds are perfect every time. There is no filler wire, its fused with a internal purge on the tube to help keep it from caving in.

A couple shots for you, hopefully you can see the welds.

The clamps are actually pipe hangers made by PBM valve company. all stainless with a rubber insert. I just put 2 together per side with a small piece of threaded stainless rod. We are using them on the current jobsite, so I'm able to get some here and there Rolling Eyes

Heres the back. All the wire is going to be run internally and I am using a flat 4 trailer harnes the will be semi flush mounted to the bar. I dont think I am ever planig to take it down, but if I ever have to I guess this will look the cleanest.

Where can one purchase some of those clamps? They are not like anything I've seen at the hardware store. How much do they cost?

Those are the clamps. CHiLi DaWg, you won't find them at the hardware store. They are a specialty item for the Bio-Pharm industry. You will have to find a vendor that will sell them to you. I can get a few here and there Rolling Eyes for my needs, since I work with this junk everyday.

I did go and pull the last purchase orders forthem from the office this morning. The 2" clamp which also does 1 1/2" depending on the rubber insert were $13.20 each. The 3" which will also do 2 1/2" (for the MT guys), were $19.00 each. I'm not sure but you might have to order the inserts separately since each clamp covers a few different sizes and there are different materials available for the inserts. Those prices were for the mirror finish like the ones I have. There is also a mill finish that are cheaper. I don't know if we get a special price because we are a specialty contractor, but that should be ball park.

Scott M, I do this for a living so you can take a guess at how much it cost me. Wink

For the average person with no connections, The tube I used is about $16.00 a foot. The caps are about 25.00 each and you would have to TIG weld them by hand because nobody would have a $30,000 orbital welder if you don't have connections. The lights were "Burner Pro Series" form Wallyworld. The ellipticals were $20.00, The rounds were $15.00.

Hope this helps Cool
