Hey All,
Sometimes in the afternoon (and certain other lighting conditions) the terrain looks real flat, what's recommended - yellow? red?
Wes

If flat light due to light overcast or the sun behind the hill (shade) I like rose or amber. If heavy overcast or snowing I like yellow. It's a tough balance though, a lot of it depends on your vision.
My Iris goggles had a yellow/gray lens. It was great for flat light, and had enough darkness to reduce glare if the sun came out.

I like pink, of course I don't have to worry about the sun coming out to often.

cezza, There's all sorts of Chrome lenses; rose chrome, grey chrome, yellow chrome and bronze chrome. My personal favorite lens is a rose chrome in all but super sunny days, I can still deal w/it though. As far as chrome coming off, I haven't had the chrome come off of a pair of goggles in a few years. I think they've gotten better. I personally feel that the chrome does nothing but look cool.

Hey All,
I think I'm ordering a pair of perscription goggles for next season - there's a place called Ski-n-See (or sim.) that takes Uvex goggles and puts lens in (not lens inserts). So that's why the question of color...it seems rose is the way to go...thanks again for everyone's input.
I can't use contacts as I have RKE (recurring cornial errosion) and just the thought of something in my eye is most unpleasant. I've been trying the glasses-under-the-goggles deal but one or the other fogs up or shifts around on my face...
For now, my season's over, it's been a good one - came from just barely being able to ride to starting to jump small stuff.

Hey JohnD,
Yep, it surely did...thanks
I've heard not-so-great things about the perscrip. inserts so my first inclination was to go with the Uvex things Jay showed a pic of, I can see how they aren't great looking but at my age, it's about function. If the young chicks don't like the way I look on the hill, well so be it...

haha siiick. If I can ever move on from Smith I'll probably look into those. Of course I could get two pairs of smiths for as much as those IS are, but they are damn cool.

I got vonzippers with a mirrored lense. The only problem with them is that they are kinda small and restrict my vision, but they look sweet so thats all that matters haha
