Any tips on doing a power slide. I go out heel side and cut it, but the rope gets really slack, and i end up turning back to brace for the impact.

i usually cut out toeside really hard. When you cut hard enough, about maxiumum cut, you can sort of feel your fins start to break loose. The first time i felt this i wasnt trying to do a powerslide, but after i felt the sensation i could immediately do powerslides. hope that helps

If you cut out heelside and the rope gets slack and pulls you in, you need to break the powerslide faster or else it's just going to edge you in everytime. I'd say do what thunderjoomu said and try breaking them by cutting out toeside first so you get the feeling down, then work on them heelside.

try them in the middle of the wake first at like 12-15 mph to get comfortable. Then you could do them anywhere.
