|
|
I have an old board that I want to use as a wakeskate. Just something to goof around on. I think it would be too slippery to just ride on the board so my question is what should I put on the board for traction?
For the record I did do a search but couldn't find anything |

I don't have any experience with this, other than I have tried to ride an old board...lol...and you are right, way to slippery, very fun for the onlookers though. I would say just buy some crip tape and slap it on (hope it sticks to a wakeboard) and you'd have some good traction. That or get some good ol wax like a surfboard type wax _________________ Keep Austin Weird |

It'd be pretty big eh, haha. It'd be nice if you could cut it . But anyhow, you could probably buy some little fins and drill em in, or if their are molden fins your set. _________________ Take off you hoser |

i think im going to just take out the fins. i want it to be loose so i can slide around and stuff. it will be kinda big but i dont know.
I looked around and saw like rubberized grips but i dont know if that will stick to the board. |

| Surf wax works or you could get some gator grip for a more permanent solution |

Bill Y Bob, measure out about a 41 inch section somewhere near the middle of you board, (doesn't hav eto be centered, cassettes are asym and they charge extra for it lol) remember measure 2x cut once, scoop about and inch of foam core out of the ends, and fill it with bondo, mask and pain the bond w/ atleast 2 coats of paint, then go to your local skateshop and get some grip tape and grip it, if your reall yfeeling abitious, and have some ability with bondo, you could make some kicktails and concave on the top, just make sure you paint it, bondo isn't waterproof. . . thats what Id do and did in your situation lol, 128 Best back in the day chopped and gripped _________________ TEAM PIRATE, AAAARRRGGGHHH YOU READY?

| An instructor at a camp I went to used an old wake tech 119cm for a skate. He just took the bindings off and put this stuff on the top. I have no idea what it is called but it looked just like clear grip tape or sand paper. You could still see the design underneath of it but it felt like grip tape. |
