|
|
Hey guys i would be interested to know in general terms what you are paying for boats in the US to get an idea of whether we are being shafted in Aus. I know this is going to vary hugely depending on options etc. I have also been looking at what prices people have been posting on other threads but i am specifically interested in the following boats.
Malibu WS VLX / XTI21
MC x-star / x30 / x9.
Nautique SAN, and Air nauti.
Supra Launch
Mobius v.
MB b52
Indication as to basic options and rough price would be appreciated.

To ship a boat from US to NZ is about $US3-4k so it's not that bad. The killer is 10k NZ in tax. I think you'll find that the price of a VLX made in Aus is pretty hard to beat. _________________ Niiiiiiiiice |

Ralph, Agree that duty is a killer. Believe that in Aus. it is 5% duty then another 10% GST of the purchase price. Of course you don't need to be entirely honest when declaring what you paid
Whilst the deals may not appear so good for new boats I reckon its not bad for secondhand, and believe that for around 20-30G you could get a nice, used boat into Aus. |

I had a scheme rolling around in my head about buying (or deposit) a boat letting a dealer use it as a demo then importing home after a year, with NZ rules then you don't have to pay duty or 12.5% GST. Would save me 10-15K in tax alone. Just got to find a friendly dealer who wants a demo for a year. _________________ Niiiiiiiiice |

I wasnt so much thinking of importing a boat more tryingto work out how good Aussie prices were havingtaken into account the current exchange rate etc. I know a new SAN will set you back around $90K here and wondered whether that was a similar price to what they were selling for in the States given the exchange rates. _________________ "It's all good" |

If think a good price SAN team is 48-50K loaded and the VLX is more in the 43-45k loaded. Checkout WWW.Flipsell.com there is a few 03 boats for sale there. _________________ Niiiiiiiiice |

A new super air is around 92 grand without any options in Australia, Fully imported. They are around 48 grand in the U.S. When they start buliding them here the prices should be lower with no duty etc, just like the original malibus, and centurions. We are selling our 2003 fully loaded 210 team with full clarion set up. _________________ www.wake.com.au |

| Ralph, Nice scheme....except that they would also have to register it in your name over there to prove your ownership. Based on pjdave's figures of 48G we would be looking at around AUD$92K + shipping etc. Looking a little down the scale, you could get a 2nd hand Nautique Excel V-Drive for around AUD$27K + shipping. Until I win lotto the latter option looks good when comparing what you would get over here for the same bucks. |

Yup, I realise the prob with the registration, thats why it's got to be a friendly dealer who understands what needs to be achieved, if it helps him and helps me it could be do-able. Got my heart set on a Supra SSV. There's none here and it would be awesome to have the only one. _________________ Niiiiiiiiice |
