I'm thinking of trying some crow mobes. I've been oing a crows for a couplke years no, and i feel like i'm ready. Iwould be passing the handle, as my blind landigs aren't nearly good enough yet. I feel like if i really pop with my front foot on the crow it seems to wan to naturally rotate the crow mobe. Any advice for when i attempt it this weekend? _________________ UCSB Waterski Team |

make sure you get a good pop, dont go too early and I find it easier instead of going like over the head, stick the handle to the hip _________________ Random Acts Of Dumbness Will Always Be Rewarded. |

Definately do what the last guy said. it's alot easier to land if you take this trick up high rather than way out in the flats. But you still want to keep alittle tension on the line to have something to pull you the last 180.
If you want to save yourself some time practise a few ts/fs 360's landing wrapped.
When you see the shorline as you come around keep your chin up and weight really forward on your toes. laterz _________________ Raley cut everything! |

Make sure when u pull the handle in on the last 180 that you keep it really tight to the small of your back if you are landing wrapped. The trick is easier if you grab it method and land wrapped. practise a few ts/fs 3's like krashr31 suggested. by grabing the trick it will help you keep the trick tight and control the movement a lot more, but makes it very difficult to pass the handle. learn to land it wrapped. when you do land wrapped the biggest thing with crow mobes is getting your chest over your toes. by gettin you weight forward over your front edge it will keep you edgeing out and you wont slip out the back. at first it will feel like you are over rotaing the trick if you do it but you need to really comit and make sure you throw your weight over your front edge. Try taking this trick straight up and wake to wake. landing in the flats will do you no good when learning. Good luck with everything.
Oh and by the way landing wrapped is not called landing blind, just to let ya know for next time. |

Late switch HS BS 180's landing wrapped will help you get this trick.
You my think you can get away without learning to land wrapped but it's not as easy as you think. What makes the crow mobe one of the easier mobes is the fact you can do the entire trick with one hand on the handle.
Even if you pass the handle you are still landing blind, so you will still need to lean over your toes and look away from the boat to be able to ride it out. Why complicate the trick from the get go? land cuffed or what ever but in order to pass you will need to have the handle in tight to the small of your back any way. Why add another step, just stuff the handle in your back pocket and lean over the toes. Even if you pass, it's done on the way down anyway, why add another step until you dial it in.
my 2 cents, landing wrapped always looks better! _________________ PEACE

| The other day i was day dreaming and thinking about how to do them since scarecrows are one of the easyist flips for me, and i was wondering if it would be a good idea to do a scarecrow with two hands on the handle then pulling it hard to your hip for the 180 and lots of slack for the handle pass....just wondering if that would be a good idea. plz share |

My advice is to shorten the rope, slow the boat down and really narrow up your approach. You need to have a lot of energy going straight up to land this one. As far as, handle pass vs. landing wrapped--just do what feels right. You rarly get to pick it tends to pick you. It really isn't that bad. I would like to hear how it goes if you try it.
Can all of you guys land crow-mobes? I am just curious. If so, wakeboarding is getting out of control. There are so many good riders out there. _________________ "Captain of Her Heart"

afizzle, for a regular un-grabbed crowmobe that is exactly the mentality you need to take when learning them. take a shorter cut than you probably would for a regular crow and make sure you keep your edge all the way up the wake before you trip it. keep both hands close on the handle and close to your waist during the flip. after you have completed the crow part of it, pull to your (now front hip) (right hip if left foot forward) pretty hard and prepare to land blind or pass it if you have enough time. _________________ www.georgiawakeboardlessons.com |
