|
|
I have had Super Sucs or Ultras since I started riding 8-9 years ago, and I've recently decided to look at something different. I don't see another highend binding out there without some kind of strapping device, so my question is to anybody else out there who has jumped from Ultras to a different binding. What did you go with and how has it worked out?
I'm not familiar with any other bindings at all, I do plan on demoing some this spring. Do you still need slime to get in the ones that cinch in some manner? Do you come out of them as easily as I do my Ultras on wipeouts?
Thanks in advance for the comments. |

| I went from ultras to parks bindings, they provide more support further up my leg and the footbed is more comfortable. They are much easier to get on and off, I LOVE EM! |

| Do you guys find that you stay in the board better on wipeouts since you made the switch from Ultras? |

I switched from Alpha's back to Ultra's. I rode a pair of Byerly bindings and they were great, but heavy as hell. I think that is the problem with HL bindings. They are heavy. _________________ It's a natural poke |

| craiger, I honestly can't remember the last time I came out of my 04 ultras. I have size 13 feet, and have xxl bindings. Do you come out of yours often? You may have gotten the wrong size. |

| Chalk up another one for Ultras-Parks... I always came out of Ultras on falls and could never get them back on in the water, so it was a huge pain. With the Parks I rarely come out, but if I do I can pop 'em back on before the boat turns around. Really glad I made the switch. |

| Ultras all the way, going to be changong to Sphynx's this spring though. Liquid Force has the best binding line in the industry, by far. |

If you like the feel of the Ultras there is alot of new stuff done to them for 2005.
Molded EVA/Lycra Heel> Molded heel kidneys to lock your heel into riding position providing support and response. Lycra provides soft feel, easy entry, and superior hold. The most comfortable heel available.
Molded EVA/Lycra Toe. Molded to eliminate pinch and pressure points and fit your foot the way a boot should. Lycra provides soft feel, easy entry, and superior hold. The most comfortable toe available.
Canted Footbed. Your arches, feet, ankles, knees and doctor will thank you for this one.
C.M.P. Molded Aluminum insert and Composite Glass make up this ultra responsive plate. It is the stiffest, most durable plate in it’s class. Transfers directly to your board, making it more responsive.

| I went from Ultras to Collective Development PS01s. Major difference! The suction bindings can feel like you're gonna jump out of them - not nearly the custom fit of a lace-up binding. Don't get me wrong though - I liked my Ultras while I had them, but I'll never go back now. |

Just went back to a set of parks after riding on Ultras for a year. This is my second set of parks and i dont think i will ever go back to anything different.
The all white LF sphinx look pretty solid.
Looks like most people agree that you cant go wrong with parks bindings....regardless i still wont ever go back to a hyperlite board. |

actually g-money, i have my ultras on a Premier, so Hyperlite bindings would be an ideal fit in that respect.
The one thing that is swaying me is exactly what maestro referenced about coming out of the Ultras more often than not, and then having to get back on the boat to get in them again. I would LOVE to be able to put my bindings on in the water, something you cannot do with properly fitted Ultras.. |
