hey guys, helping a friend decide on which boat:

89' Mastercraft- 19.5ft open bow, V8, 454 hp, with 600 hours. $13,500

95' Centurion- La Point Tru Trac model, direct drive, 19ft, 350 hp, with 325 hours. $10,999

The mastercraft is more expensive, but Im thinking because they last longer?? Here is a picture of the Centurion:

If you go with the Centurion....remove the cavitation plate off of the boat, and buy 3 fat sacks. One sack on each side of the engine, and one in the bow will give you a nice steep large wake. I use to have the open bow version of that boat...you just have to weigh the piss out of it to get a decent wake...

Keep shopping! The MC sounds overpriced for it's age and the Centurion is not what you really want. Cent's are good boats IMHO but you will sell that closed bow out of frustration it a season or two.

Don't get in a hurry. You'll find a smokin' deal eventually.
