Posted: Mar 04, 2005 8:29 pm Post subject: Who has a wakeboard addiction? |
|
|
I know I do. I live in Michigan have not been wakeboarding since Mid November in Florida. All I want to do is go wakeboarding. In the summer if I do not get out at least twice a week I start to go stir crazy. I ride with anyone who wants to go.
Things I am doing or have done that proves my addiction:
- I am currently trying to convince my wife to move to Florida so I can wake board more often or anywhere further south.
- Owned a brand new regal bow rider with a fast trac hull(complete slush wake). Traded it in for a 02 Moomba mobius.
- Bought the Mobius when my daughter was 3months old
- All I want to do is talk about wakeboarding or go wakeboarding
- After I put my kids to bed I am on ebay looking to buy stuff for my boat
One more comment for my addiction I am praying my kids to fall in love with the sport for these reasons:
- I will be involved in the sport for the rest of my life through my children
- I can wakeboard everyday
- My wife will let me buy a knew vdrive wakeboard boat one day
"WAKEBOARDING IS THE BEST DRUG I HAVE EVER FOUND!!!"
Who else has this addiction?? _________________ MOBIUS |

I call it my addiction to. Even wrote a poem about it called my addiction at school . lol but I think about it all day long, I even hook a rope up to a tree today and ran back and fourth through the yard and would act like there was a wake. Pretty cool. |

| I spend a minimum of 3 hours a day on wakeboarder.com, I just sent in an order for 3 boards and 3 pair of bindings, I daily search for a good deal on a boat, I pee double ups, I actually dreamed I was out riding with shane bonifay and andrew adkison two nights ago...it gets worse trust me. My girlfriend has actually threatened to break up with me...she didn't , she actually took up the sport...kinda...on a monthly basis I go to meet strangers just so I can wakeboard with them. |

Matt, I hear ya! I'm constantly checking out newer boats. Just leased an '05 Ram 1500 for towing.
By the way, do you know Eric Pederson, he lives on your lake?! Down by the islands at the one end of the lake.
I also hear that the locals are complaining about wake board boats eroding the shoreline. Time to move! _________________ SLIP IT ON AND RIDE IT! |

skobi1, yu wouldn't believe the perfect Double up i just swirled....
matt_mobius, Haha i know how you feel. its like... Wake up - Think about wakeboarding and then why 'waking up' is called this.. it clearly has nothing at all to do with wakeboarding....
My family are ready to divorce me right now.... anyone else try to make a wake in their soup with a spoon? _________________ www.AxisBoats.co.uk | www.Malibu-Boats.co.uk |

Doug, I do not believe I know Eric. Which end of the lake by fausett or by lobster island. What kind of boat does he have. On shannon there are only two moomba's mine is the navy blue one. If you and Eric board email me I am hoping it stays above freezing by april so I can dewinterize my boat and start boarding.
No neighbor has complained to me about the wake eroding the shoreline.
Heck my shoreline has to be rerocked this summer the previous owner did not maintain it.
I went boarding on Walled lake last summer behind an air nautique. I work in Farmington Hills. _________________ MOBIUS |

Definatly addicted, bought my first boat from Club Royale there on lake elizabeth when i was 21 years old. I'm now 23 and getting around to buying my own tow vehicle, i've been borrowing friends to tow it. I am currently unemployed and seriously considering not getting another job till summer is over.
Luckily my sig. other grew up around boats, and can pilot a tow rig or navigate the tightest channels like a pro. Out of everyone i know she give me the most consistent pull, and we don't have PP.
Last year my lake thawed on April 4th _________________ Brent B

Broccoli, I bought my moomba from Rob at Club Royale as well.
I believe I am going to be in your neck of the woods in July. I am going to hook up with Dave Briscoe in either coldwater or lawton.
If you sig. drives anything like Briscoe I could use some lessons. He could keep you from falling using his driving abilities. _________________ MOBIUS |

Matt, Eric has a Malibu Response without tower. He also has a pontoon boat. I think he lives by lobster island. There are two small islands at the one end of the lake. Thats where the annual "Surf and turf" summer bash is held. _________________ SLIP IT ON AND RIDE IT! |

| I purposely put my boat in a storage facility for the winter that I don't have access to until April, just to keep the bug out of my head, yet day after day I cruise the boart waiting for the 18 inches of ice to come off the lake! |

I just spent 30 mins in the bathroom getting rid of my double up. Of course, my pump isn't 750gph either, and double ups contain a lot of liquid.
My name is Stacy, and I'm a wake-aholic. I think about riding almost constantly, and pretty much drive people away because I talk about it so much. In 2 years of riding, I am on my 2nd boat, 3rd board set up, 3rd pfd, etc..... Although I suck, I'm still addicted. _________________

Sorry to all who may have thought I was high jacking this thread earlier on.
Here is a great story. I'm at the Novi boat show, I'm talking to the Supra/Moomba dealer, and this guy walks up and starts talking to the dealer. I over hear him mention something about Lake Shannon. And before you know it, it's Matt_Mobius in the flesh. HOLY SMOKES, what a small world! _________________ SLIP IT ON AND RIDE IT! |
