What is a good binding to get for a beginner. I currently have a hydroslide chaser binding on a liquidforce dlx board, but I can see that these will need to be changed soon. Any Suggestions appreciated greatly.

5'11" 180lbs Size 11 on liquid force dlx 141cm

In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a pro rider...Ankles are an important part of your body that you need to protect (especially because i think noobies take harder falls than intermediate advanced). On that note on the Liquid Line I'd recommend the Alpha, or anythign above it. On the Hyperlite Line I'd recommend the Era or anything above it. From there it is personal preference. If you have a shop that will let you demo them before you buy I would definitely do that. If not, they are not a good quality shop. Comfort and support are the issues you want to deal with, the last thing you want is to end your season on a broken ankle or torn ligament because your bindings didn't fit right.

I'd also change out your bindings as quickly as possible...

If you decide you want ultras then you'll have to give them some break in time. Don't give up on them because they will be very comfy after a few sets.

the ultras have lycra on the side which makes them more comfortable they are a pro level binding and the super are a biginner. ultras have been around for a long time so you know there a great binding the footbed softer on the ultras
ultras also have more support If your looking at both I'd go with the ultras

i tried on the ultras and the alphas before i decided on the alphas. they were the same price so that wasnt a factor, but i have flat feet and the alphas were mopre comfy so i bought them and couldnt be happier. you cant go wrong with either of those.
