Colorado folk?

Anybody here live in CO? I just started boarding and need to know some good spots in this lovely place. I know the high mountain lakes dont allow motor boats but any advice would be great.

Yeah dude good question...

To be quite honest we aren't in a very good state for wakeboarding from what I've seen...

We have some nice lakes, but they are few and far between and we have so many people water is only nice at dawn...

But anyways, here are a few options... Standley Lake, Chatfield, Sloans Lake or if you want to get away from ppl Pueblo is nice and so is Sterling

But personally I think that if you have the time try and make a trip up to Glendo, WY (about 3 hours from Denver). Great lake, with great water (not just at 6 AM).

Sorry man, I guess since we have some of the best snowboarding we can't complain....

Then again, if anyone around here knows something we don't, speak up!

Engine22 what part of CO do you live in? I ride mostly at chatfield and horsetooth up in Ft. Collins. Chatfield is kinda hit or miss though, weekday nights aren't too bad. We also have Cherry Creek Res and Boyd lake, I haven't been to those, but I heard they are crowded as well.

The best and closest lake is in Wyoming, galled Glendo. Take I-25 North until you get to mile marker 123 I think in Wyoming and hang a right. That lake is warn and sick 4 hrs from Denver. Powell is 8 hr west on 70. John Martin 76 out to limon and hang a right and down to lamar 4 hrs. if you have a dry suit cherry creek is nice for the next 3 months

Hey yeah guys i'm up in Fort collins so thats probably not too far from glendo Wyoming. Horsetooth would be good but it gets pretty crowded in there. I have never wakeboarded in there cause i just got my boat and I was wondering how it is? Some of those other suggestions sound pretty sweet but i'll definetely have to check out glendo, thanks.

Yeah Swass your right, Standley is already sold out I checked it last night..

I also just thought about hitting up Neb. I haven't been up to McCaughnehey (sp?) in Neb. for a long time, but i remember it being pretty nice. Last thing I heard was that it was about drained from the drought though...

the thing I don't like about Chatfield, other than all the people it attracts, is that there is almost no straight away on the lake anywhere, your constantly turning...

Glendo is the way to go...and the camping is good up there too. I don't know if any of you guys saw this, but I remember at last year's boat show they had some guys come down that were selling these cabins on like 2 acre plots of land up at glendo...for only like $150k too...Damn I wish I had money.

Hey I feel sorry for you Front Range Guys, I was at Boyd on October 12th last year and it was crowded then. If you ever get a chance try out Navajo do it. Its about 5 1/2 hours from Denver. Warm water and once you get away from the marina and campgrounds no crowds !!! We usually find a cove and go nuts. They call it the Powell of Colorado and thats a stretch, Navajo doesn't get nearly as crowded.
