ok, heres what i did to learn. Stand on the ground like you would facing forward on a wakeboard. then, jump and twist ONLY your lower body, keeping your upper body in the position. sometime using a rope tied to a tree or something helps. do this for a bit to develop muscle memory, it will make taking it to the wayer easier. when you are on the water, ollie and twist your hips like you didi on flat ground and let go with your back hand (what was your front hand) and remember to KEEP YOUR BODY POSITION THE SAME. Most people treat riding switch like riding backward, and rotate their entire body.

i always watch people trying to ride switch for the first time and it looks UGLY
you gotta remember to keep the same stance as if u where riding normal
most people try to either lean back or bend there knees a lot it just plain out looks ugly and makes them fall
try what ctipping said
the way i learned was get on a skateboard in my switch stance and tied a rope to my bike and had my friend pull me
i got the feel for riding switch and when i got out on the water it was much easier

Do not forget to switch the weight from your front leg to the back leg. When I first started riding switch I forgot to do that and, does the term faceplant mean anything to you????

Honestly it is not that hard... I learned by getting up switch... but you must be comfortable with the toe side edge!!!

yeah it's obviously too late for this now, but when i started, i made sure i could ride both ways equally...from the very beginning, i had the boat slow down a little and just did surface 180s and just going slower...so it was natural for me either way from the get-go

right when you get up, switch right away before you pick up speed.

helps holding on handle with one hand instead of two helped me. depending on stance, when switch, switch to other hand. duh.

jaknjilloff, I would stay away from ollie 180's until you're comfortable riding switch. Just slow the boat down and do a surface 180 and cruise around swich at about 14 mph and keep speeding it up as you get more comfortable. Good luck

try riding switch in choppy water, it is good practice, its inevitable that you will do a few face plants , but those are fun , right? Puppy Eyes
