is it easier to just build a base or drive the poles into the sand. the water isn't deep at all...maybe four feet tops..just wondering if i should spend the money on more wood and build a base or try and drive them into the sand...any cool easy methods? _________________ everything in between is what matters most...you build up to it in the beginning and you talk about it in the end. don't pass it up while it is here |

| driving into sand is a chore....you don't need much extra wood for a base, but make sure you weight it down a bit so it doesn't get up and go.... |

Put the posts in the sand, the slider will be alot more stable and won't more if there is a big wind. _________________ www.Crawlinbc.com |

i actually went out to where i am gonna build it. i don't think it will be too hard to drive them in and with side supports i won't need to put them really far in. should work out pretty good. planning on a 36'-48' a frame..haven't decided on the length...probably end up six feet out of the water or so....hopefully none of the local yuppies complain..thanks for the input... _________________ everything in between is what matters most...you build up to it in the beginning and you talk about it in the end. don't pass it up while it is here |

| wbc_bill, in ms paint go to "image" and then "stretch and skew". set the size percentages to what you wish. |
