i'm driving all around. will land sanfransisco then drive to sacramento to lake tahoe then south to LA then to las vegas then further east to the grand canyon and colorado river then all the way back to san fran where i'll fly home.
so anywhere close to my route would be good, i'm also welling to take a detour off track if the shop is really worth a visit.

any info is much appreciated, thanx

hishy, there are many shops in/around the SF Bay Area.

Ultimate Watersports, Ski World, Cope McPheteres, Boarder Nation, etc. etc.

Contact K-Dub at Ultimate. He can get you all fixed up.

PS: That is an assload of driving. You are looking at nearly 2,000 miles - maybe more!

I'm probably the closest to San Francisco for you. I run the Boarders-Paradise shop in San Jose, about 30-45 minutes south of where you will be landing and taking off. As Pope and Chavez said, p.m. me to let me know what you are looking for, and I can get you hooked up for sure.

My wife and I get all of our stuff from Ski World in Castro Valley. They have pretty good prices and their customer service is excellent!!

Ski World in Castro valley is on your way to sacramento if you take the 92 (San mateo bridge - just a few miles south of the SF airport.) you can continue on 580 to 5 north which will take you to Sac.

Just a word of caution, the traffic around here can be really bad during the weekdays. I'm not sure when you plan on coming out, but it's best to travel mid-day 11:00 - 2:00, or after 7 p.m.

i would suggest buying from wherever live unless you are looking for the lowest, lowest, lowest price- then just buy from grizzly...

if you buy from a local shop allows you can audition the goods and get it warrantied or exchanged if you dont like it or taken care of if something goes wrong.....

i have had really, really good experience with wakesports in san diego(tyler & geoff). they have "fair"prices (not the cheapest but not the most expensive) and their customer service is outstanding. needless to say they have my recommendation and business.

clubmyke, He's from out of the country, so when he's touring the west coast he's lookin' to buy. If my memory serves me correct he was lookin' to get some used stuff, but most people were not willing to ship out of the country.

I'm going to have to say, check out either K-dubs or Syth's shop. They are both good guys and will help you get the right stuff

Bowen, you're totally correct. now that the opportunity comes for me to go to the US, i figured buy 'em while i'm there.
thanks guys for all the replys, but do any of these shops give a demo ie let you try the boards before taking them back home with me??
also how do you compare the prices to the online stores?
SF bay area is ideal to pick the boards up, but got plenty of room in the car, so location not a problem, i can pick the goods up on the return journey.

thanx again
