|
|
I just got some pictures of the LED's i have been installing in our Mastercraft X-2. For the most part its done but there are still a few more things that need to get done. I saw some pictures of how some shops were doing the install on other Mastercrafts and i just wasnt impressed. They didnt make the lights look like they were part of the boat or like they were done by Mastercraft at the factor. So i built-in the LED's to the stock light housings that the stock 12volt system came in. I didnt like the fact that the bow of the boat had no light, so i bought two more of the same light housings that Mastercraft puts in there boats and added two lights in the bow of the boat, so you can see a little better on the floor. I changed out all the locker lights with LED lights as well. The only other lights that i added were two lights that shine down from the dash on to the drivers foot and cup holder, these lights are on a diffrent switch than the cabin and bow lights. I also added one LED to the glove box. Sorry about the picture quality, it isnt the best but you will get the idea. When i take the boat out of storage here in a few weeks and get it on the water i will take some more, but for now, hope you like!

Nice, I like how they are pretty discreet. not lighting up the whole boat but enough light for when neccessary.
Good job

Looks nice, very subtle. I installed a neon light tube on my tower by putting the tube in 1.5" pvc, capping the ends & cutting a slot in the bottom. This lights the whole interior of the boat w/neon. Wonder if anyone else has tried something like this

Thanks for all the kind words. I bought the LED's through boatersworld.com They werent as cheap as you could get them through the group buy that April had put together, but i had bought most of them before i had even heard about the buy. And on top of that, if i am understanding right, they couldnt get the LED's in a white housing, so that wasnt going to work for what i wanted to do. But anyway, cost #'s for the LED's:
4light LEDs- $ 17.00 x6 ( 4 for the light housings and 2 for under the dash)
3 light LED Step- $ 17.00 x2 ( one for the cup holder one for the glovebox)
LED Strip light- $15.00 x3 (for all storage spaces)
LED Bow Nav light- $59.00
Perko Flush mount utilty light- $9.00 x2 (for the new lights in the Bow)
Tower LED light from Mastercraft- $89.00
I would love to see what everone else ends up doing, so post some pictures when you get done. I still am not 100% done yet, next will be getting an amp rack put in and i will be doing some lighting with LED's for that as well so keep checking back for more!!!
Thanks!!!!
