Hey all, i made a little skateboarding video of myself. Basically we got this new camera and i wanted to make something and play around with adobe premier, so i came up with this:

http://photos.wakeboarder.com/showphoto.php?photo=7934&sort=1&cat=500&page=1

Also, i am quite aware i suck at skateboarding, but hey feel free to make fun of me Laughing

Hey dude, dig the vid. Yeah, it's not gonna get you sponsored or anything, but it takes balls to put some footy of yourself up for people to see, so you get props for that. I'm feeling inspired, maybe I'll go try to film summa my stuff.

PS: That was a nice fakie 360 shuvit at the end. I'm scared to try those 'cuz last time I did I landed on the rail & slammed flat on my back. Always makes me a little nervous to watch other people try it.

Hey thanks guys, i just learned that fakie 360 shuv that day. Im starting to progress alots now, figures right after i film that little video haha. I landed a v flip ealier today (im pretty sure its a v flip anyways) it was a little sketchy because my foot almost came off, but oh well. Check it out:

http://photos.wakeboarder.com/showphoto.php?photo=7941&sort=1&cat=500&page=1

I'm still not even close on heelflips though, i can't even rotate the board. I tried them for a while today and i just can't figure them out. It feels very weird how i have to position me feet. Oh well i will try some more later.

Try going faster when you do flip tricks so that your tail goes stick to the ground. The one kickflip you did after you boarslid the rail was really nice, but you should make them all like that. The varial is looking good too.

byerly137pro, alright thanks. I tried going faster today and the landings are a little harder to ride off with but the rotation of the trick is actually easier IMO.

I tried heelflips for a while today, i can only get the board about half way around. It lands right under me, so once i can get the full rotation i will be able to land them. I just need some tips on how do rotate the board faster. I feel really uncomfortable when I have my toes off of the board. I have seen some videos and I have searched this web site, but nothing is really working for me. I guess it is just one of those tricks that i will have to figure out, and once i do hopefully it will be easy then. I hope atleast haha.

Yeah, heelflips are weird for me too. If you keep practicing you won't hafta set up for it as much. When I first started learning kickflips like only the toes of my front foot would be on the board. Now I barely hafta shift my feet at all. Heelflips are a lot the same, at first you set up a lot, then when you get comfortable you barely setup at all.

One thing you may wanna try that a buddy of mine showed me is to point your foot at an angle & kick diagonally out rather than the standard drag & kick method. I did it a couple times, it felt weird but I got it to work. Nonetheless, I stuck with the regular drag & kick method.

ok. first off this is advice.

1. Don't push mongo. push with your other foot.

2. Skate more get better.

3. get super good at ollies before anything else.

4. go skate mini ramp. gets board control down.

Id_Rather_Be_On_A_Board, if you are that desperate then set up a tripod, hit record, do a few tricks, and then turn it off. repeat process as wished.

i couldnt ger heelflips for a long time and i eventually gave up. then as i got better i decided it was time to learn them and i landed it on my second try. i just set it up so the balls of my feet are on the toe rail and my feet are right next to the bolts and then i pop an ollie and kick straight forward like how you would kick a soccer ball. no drag or flicking or anything like with a kickflip but i can feel my heel clip the corner ofthe nose to give it a nice rotation. this method has worked for me so far. i can catch them semi high.

Heelflip
Fakie Kickflip
Fakie 360 shuv
V Flip
Fakie V flip
Fakie BS 180 Kickflip
Fakie FS 180 Kickflip

try a backside flip., its way easier than a frontside flip and since you alread y have both halfcab flips it should be cake. also make sure that you get your tricks semi solid otherwixe whne you move on to bigger things youll find that you lose some simpler tricks.

colefooter, I say you should go skate some ramps. also try your tricks with more speed. it makes you get more confortable with the trick so you can try it off of stuff. or over stuff.

colefooter, also get yourself a pair of skate shoes. Get some vans or DVS or anything just not NIKE. Nikes are for skateboarding.

NorthwestRider, hahaha i know, i really didn't skate much untill now, so i definatly need to get some kind of skate shoes. I will be checking out some stores this weekend.

I have actually never rode with a pair of skate shoes, do they help a lot? I have always used whatever shoes i normally wear. All i know is that those nikes are starting to get a nice hole from where i ollie hah.

nikes do make skate shoes but they seem overpriced. i guess they raised the wages in their swearshops. and yes skate shoes make a difference. better board feel, more comfortable, better padding, better girp and more durable.

The Headless Chicken, Yes Nike does make skate shoes I know. but that would be like buying a K2 or Solman snowboard. Support real companys not just corperate jerks that want more money.

colefooter, Ya they make a huge difference. Its crazy if you try and skate your nikes after you get used to skate shoes.

Skate shoes typically have extra protection or durable material around the toes so that they don't rip from ollies.

I feel that you shouldn't buy Nike shoes 'cuz they're not true to skaters. There's a dozen different skate companies that are skater owned & skater run, Nike isn't one of them. They only started a line of skate shoe after they realized how profitable it was. You know if skateboarding goes through another dead period they'll pull the skate line fast enuff to give you whiplash. They did it once, they'll do it again.

Most younger skaters disagree with this idea, but most of them didn't hafta live through the 90's as a skater. 2 brands of skate shoe and 1 shop within a 50 mile radius that had any type of skate gear. Were there any Nike shoes? Nope. Nike can bite me. Hurley too for that matter.

When I bought the Nike shoes I definatly wasn't skateboarding. I have a nice hole in them now hah. The only reason i got them was because they cost 20 bucks yeah! lol

I plan to go shopping this weekend, do any companies make a densient shoe that cost about maybe 40-50 bucks? I'll just check out the mall this weekend.

Hey Cole, if you don't find anything at a local shop (which is pretty unlikely) you can also check out a couple online shops. I usually am a big proponent of supporting your local shop, but there's a few online shops that I think are okay. I think the best of the bunch is Active Mailorder and I know for a fact they have a buncha shoes on sale right now in the price range you're looking at.

Hmmmm, am I the only person that doesn't really do flip tricks? I mean I can and all. but I just never thought they were really as fun as hitting something with speed. So I worked on grinds and getting my ollies and nollies good. Anyways just a thought. I should really go film but I always feel pretty dumb going down the the local park where there is a buch of rippers and just doing stuff that is OK. but filming it. oh well. done.

I made a little fun carpet skateboarding video today, i didn't really spend much time on it editing. I also have a few more tricks but i couldn't seem to flip or move as fast on the carpet. It was lots of fun though on this rainy day Mad
