| I've found an '04 CWB with LF super suction XL bindings for $180. would this be a good board for me? I'm 6'1" 200lbs, Size 13 foot. Help is appreciated. The price seems reasonable. just not sure if it'll be good for me to learn on. |

| WELL, it depends what size the board is, if it is a 141 or 142 you should be fine. I'm not sure on the XL, they might be a bit small for you. |

Hey I'm 6'2 185 and size 13 foot.
I have a 137 board and X-large bindings so if its 137 or bigger you should be fine. Especially with the xl bindings. _________________ http://www.learnwake.com/amember/go.php?r=253&i=l1 |

| DMBeer81, if the board is bigger than 140, go for it. Keep the bindings on it, my friend has size 13 and XL, so you should be fine. The Sol is an alright learning board, and the super suctions are quite comfortable |

| DMBeer81, 139 may be pushing it, like I said before if its a 140-42 you'd be fine. 139 may be a little small but it should be good for learning. |

Does the 1-2 centimeters really make a noticable difference, at least for a beginner? Also, does that seem like a relatively good price for this setup? It seems most boards alone go for this price many places. _________________ Life's short, Live it up, Wounds go away, embarassment doesn't! |

| DMBeer81, The price is pretty good, I'd probably jump on it if I needed a beginner board. You will be perfectly fine riding a board that size, BUT it will be easier for you to ride a bigger one, and it will be easier to learn on. Its kind of a toss up to be perfectly honest. 1-2 cm does make a difference depending on the board, with this one...you should be fine, but you might need to travel a little big faster (1-2 mph) than you would with a bigger board. Good luck. |

Catch This Wake, board size should not be correlated to height - it should be correlated to weight.
Water doesn't displace for height, it displaces for weight.
DMBeer81, follow Bowen's advice. 139 should be within your range as a starter board. I weigh about 180 and I started on a 137 with no problems. After time, you will probably benefit by moving up to a 140-141. You can then retire the Sol to the whore board that everyone/anyone can ride and you don't have to care about it. _________________

Catch This Wake, my post count doesn't mean I know the first thing about wakeboarding. Just look at K-Dub. He's got over 8,000 posts and he is afraid of the water. _________________

ROFLMAO! That is priceless!
Catch This Wake, i'm w/ chavez post count doesn't mean anything, a prime example is CTipping he apparently thinks that if he gets his post count up people will respect him...that is not the case. There are 'noobies' on the forums who may have just joined but they know more than I or Chavez combined...well that would be hard, but stranger things have happened. |
