nollie backside crooks

The Headless Chicken, Do I need to lean way foward or what, by the way I have my boardslides on a flat rail dialed in pretty good. Should I set my flat rail up maybe down some stairs or a ledge and give that a shot first or is a handrail completely different?

Is this supposed to be believable? You can't do a boardslide, quite possibly the easiest grind known, but you can nollie crooks a 5-stair? I suppose the nollie crooks leads you to the secret tape & summa the letters to spell S-K-A-T-E. Rolling Eyes

I agree that people learn things differently. I don't agree that someone could learn a nollie crooked before a boardslide. We're not talking about tricks that are similar in difficulty here (ie, a heelflip vs. a kickflip). This would be tantamount to saying you can't ollie but you can do a hardflip.

I don't care if people lie, but I do care if people lie & then try to give trick tips.

I think he might've been joking, but if he wasn't, its a nollie backside crooks! THats an advanced trick, especially when compared to a simple boardslide.

So as soon as I'm above the rail I should

Quote:

and then I should

or maybe I should

Wow, that sounds really easy thanks for getting off topic. Oh and thanks for nothing but wasting my time. Well atleast I can always count on wakeboarder.com members to always ruin a thread and turn everything into a mf'in soap opera

beggars cant be choosers. if you want to get back on topic just ask your question again, you dont have to make yourself sound like an door knob, unless you dont want advice. Also, handrails are pretty tough, and there arent that many skaters on this site so dont expect too much reliable advise. try setting your rail up on some stairs and sliding it. that will help you get the feel of sliding down but its still not like a handrail.

The Headless Chicken, Very well then I just thought it was insane that the thread was titled HANDRAILS and 45% of the post inside the thread were about some guy that may or may not be able to pull nollie backside crooks. But I see were you are coming from. I guess some people take things a little too serious. Even when there post wasn't mentioned they still feel it necessary to give out poor ratings to people who mention (in a sarcastic way I will agree) that other people are hijacking threads and breaking forum guidelines in the process of doing so.

- Poor call on your part for the Sad Sad

- But it's all good thanks for your advice

I don't think anyone can do handrails anyway, I've tried and failed because they're pretty hard.

79nawteak, , what helped me was going fast and just tapping it, this way if you miss you fly past the rail and can't get sacked, and as I got comfortable I slowed it down a bit. Mind you this was just a 5 stair handrail, good luck!

Shuvits are different though, they don't require an ollie. Boardslide and Nollie back Crooks are way different.

I really took a huge step up with my boardslides this weekend. We built a platform and set it up on blocks then had the rail going down at an angle. then to get on the platform we had kind of like a kicker up to it. I would ollie off the kicker straight onto the rail without touching the platform and ofcourse slide down the rail and land it. Also I can come off the rail regular and fakie. Not really sure if any of this matters to you guys or not. But I'm happy about it

Exactly.

nawteak, sounds like your skating's coming along, that's great. You can ask people for advice or trick tips or whatever, but ultimately there's no good substitute for you getting out & trying it yourself.

Now try frontside hurricanes. Mr. Green

Another way to get on handrails besides ollie is doing something I think is called a caveman but not sure if it is the right name. Anyways all you do is grab the nose of the board and run up to the rail and put it under your feet let go and boardslide the rail and roll away. I landed 5 different handrails like this before I ever ollied onto one. The biggest handrail I've ever ollied onto was a 6 stair but i've cavemaned a 8 stair handrail so thats just another option. Good luck this weekend!

Yeah, that's called caveman. Another thing people do sometimes is set up a kicker ramp so you can just roll onto a rail without ollie-ing onto it, that's called slappy. Usually you see people do that on painted curbs though.

nawteak, I'm kidding about the hurricane, that's one of the hardest grinds there is.

Good call.... the ones that make it to ten posts are usually the most interesting because the topic has gravitated to what people actually want to talk about.

79nawteak..... keep ur pants on. The way to get advice isn't to b an ass to everyone.

Ok here is the thing. Why in the name of god after all of that (not be an @$$) stuff was over on the 13th post, would you dredge it back up? I wasn't being an @$$ in the first place just using a little sarcasm. So please numbfoot do me a favor if you are going to post an irrelevant post like the one above. Instead please GARGLE WITH A 50/50 MIX OF ANTI-FREEZE AND HYDROCHLORIC ACID THEN SWALLOW AND DIE. So you can save me the time of reading it.
