ive seen this discussed here a few times........snowboarding deffinately...then again, im kinda biased with this one...Since i don't have a boat, only time i get to wakeboard is w/ other friends during the summer...

I like the fact of how much freedom snowboarding gives you....

Wakeboarding by so far its not even funny.....snowboarding all the girls are under like 5 feet of clothes, so they don't flash you when you land new stuff....they could but it would be like playing that parcel game at christmas....frantically trying to unwrap it for the prize thats not worth the effort.....

Wake, because we don't get enough snow around here. I'm not very advanced yet, but so far the crashes have been easier on the water. Definitely more freedom on the snow though.

Hopefully I will have a good summer and provide the boat with plenty of ladies wearing the equivilant to underwear...

I mean your wife thinks I should bring more girls out...

Snowboarding - cuz i'm a good snowboarder and a crappy wakeboarder, well i finally got a boat so maybe that will change. ALthough i like the advantages of wakeboarding's summer stuff, (sun, girls, boats, ocean and beaches - whats not to like?) if only you could snowboard in the summer, everything would be perfect.

I'm also not sure but i find 100% of my falls on a wakeboard hurt (catch that heelside edge - ouch) but most of my snowboard falls don't - but then i'll randomly get that snowboard hit that makes every wakeboard one seem like nothing. U know the one, you can't stand up and your leaving a nice pool of blood at the bottom of a handrail and thinking what the Bubb Rubb was i thinking? On those days i'd take wakeboarding.

But those days you go on vacation to some nice mountain and wake up the next morning to 2' of powder - nothing compares to that

yea i agree with that too. i am alot better at snowbaording than wakeboarding but that is beacuse i dont have a boat and the only time i get to ride is when i visit my cousins or someone else on a lake. One advantage i love about wakeboarding is that it is alot less forgiving than snowboarding so i can try crazy stuff and not kill myself ha.

Method9455, want to snowboard in the summer? buy yourself some of this stuff....

i dunnno man - ever woken up to a foot of fresh powder with sunny skies, gotten off at the top and dropping in on endless amount of untracked powder becuase i don't really think any day of wakeboarding behind the same old boat with the same wake could ever match that.

plus)
snowboarding is way faster
airs are bigger
the terrain is always changing, conditions always changing, i never get bored with it
differant jibs and stuff to play around on - how many people actually jib on a wakeboard?

although wakeboarding has)
warm weather
sun all the time
no ice
babes? i dunno my boat doesn't have any but i'm working on that this summer now that my friends can drive down to the shore where my boat is

i dont know,, like a lot of you have said,, if you dont have your own boat, its really hard to get into wakeboarding,, its and awesome sport though,, hella fun,,, even if you crash all the time,, snowboarding i think pushes your limits more though,, they both rock

really if you took like the action of wakeboarding vs the action of snowboarding, snowboarding wins, but the atmosphere of wakeboarding is kick ass. The other thing that sucks about wakeboarding though is one at a time, good to show off but sometimes its fun to like race with your friends or hit jumps in the park at the same time or right after each other in a row, just random stuff like that you can't do wakeboarding

I love them both, however I'd have to say snowboarding over wakeboarding..I'm also way bettter at snowboarding. The main reason is convenience for me. it's also free for me to snowboard.

Steps to go snowboarding
1. Call some bros. If I can't find anybody oh well, I'll find somebody on the hill I know.
2. Put on snowboard clothes, boots and grab board.
3. Throw board on rack and drive 5 min to mtn.
4. Get on lift.
5. ride

Steps to go wakeboarding.
1. Try to round up two other people
2. Wait forever for peeps to show up.
3. Load everyting up in car
4. Go get gas for boat
5. Pick up boat and get it ready
6. Drive 15 min to lake
7. Drop boat in
8. Ride
9. Get trailer
10 unload everything from boat
11. Drop boat off
12. Get home and drop peeps off, unload car

I guess if I lived on a lake it'd be a different story. I also get to ride behind a lot of sweet boats too, so that's a bonus not dealing w/everything.

For me it is wakeboarding...I live on a lake and have a boat but live pretty far from anything with altitude.

My kids like snowboarding better because....1. they are not quite old enough to appreciate the scantily clad ladies and that is usually their MOM in my boat. 2. When you fall on a snowboard, you just get back up. When you fall on a wakeboard this big process starts over....slow the boat down, idle back to the boarder, cricle the handle to the rider, get the line tight, wait for the 'hit it', pour on the throttle, get the boat on plane, wait for PP to lock in speed, and then make a cut at the wake.

I will say, I think the falls are WAY harder snowboarding, but I have only ridden on Eastern ice and snow. I can't imagine how painful it would be coming up short on an invert on a snowboard, but have experienced it many times wakeboarding. Never been in powder though and that migh make a difference.

thing about wakeboarding is, when you slam usualy its coz you catch your edge and that sux- ive had some narly bails wakeboarding. you dont just bounce on the water and then stop- as soon as you catch your edge your face is on the water
